Where the hell was that wolf? Molly was getting sick and tired of Rayne disappearing all the time. Not to mention, her hormones were driving her crazy and making her feel like she was going to explode any minute. She couldn't move very fast, since her belly was very swollen with pups. But she could move fast enough to storm around the dens and look for Rayne. That damn female had eaten the last of her pain killer herbs, and she was in pain and just completely pissed off. Yes, she knew that Rayne was pregnant too, but Molly was meaner, especially now. And she had a feeling that she was carrying a lot more pups that the other female was, if not bigger ones. At least that's what it felt and looked like. Then she spotted her, coming out of the alpha's den. She made a beeline towards her, snarling and digging her teeth into the other female's shoulder, not realizing what she was doing until she was thrown to the side roughly with a gash to her shoulder. She hit the ground with a yelp, looking up to see a snarling and defensive Blitzen standing over her. Damn, she'd really done it this time.

Blitz was too protective of his mate, and the moment that Molly's teeth sank into Rayne's shoulder, he was on top of her, snarling and digging his teeth into her shoulder and drawing blood. He had never struck Molly before, but he was tired and stressed from Rayne's pregnancy, and his protective instincts were just too strong, so he now pinned the head healer beneath him and snarled threateningly down at her, daring her to move as Rayne remained safe behind him.

Not far off inside his den, Coven had been gnawing at the bones of his latest meal, not oblivious to his crackling storm cloud of a mate as she stalked around the dens like a badger out for blood, but knowing full well that there was no point in telling her to chill out. So he let her be and figured everyone else would do the same. They'd figured it out quick enough, so it was shocking to hear the snarling outside, that it was from Molly! Coven was on his feet and out the door before the bones even hit the floor, and before he could take in anything other than the image of a hostile male lumbering over the small female, the black wolf streaked over and leaped at the male, throwing his paws around the bigger wolf's neck as he hurled his body into the other's. He'd missed the fact that Rayne was standing there, nearly struck by the males' bodies as they were thrown off Molly; he missed her injury, and even Molly's, responding only to the fact that this huge wolf was about to snap his mate's face off.

Snarling, the black wolf raked his claws into whatever flesh he could, aimed his teeth for the throat, and didn't allow for an inch of space between him and his opponent, which as usual allowed for damage to snake its way through in quick, scathing bursts. Coven never really did fight with the intent to back down or give space to protect himself, preferring the pros of high damage from himself to the cons of letting his opponent get a breather. Perhaps if he had taken a second to evaluate this, it would have become apparent who he was fighting. Most likely it wouldn't have mattered.

Blitz snarled in pain and surprise as Coven knocked him off of Molly and began to tear visciously at him. He retaliated the best he could, but the younger male was simply faster and stronger than him, so at this point, he was mostly trying to stay alive. He slashed at the black wolf with his fangs when he could get in a clean shot, but other than that, he just did his best to stay on his feet and protect his throat from the other male's fangs. He couldn't even tell who he was fighting, all he knew was that the wolf was black and male, and pissed off. He snarled angrily, digging his teeth into whatever he could, quickly loosing energy. His attacks were getting slower and sloppier, and soon he was finding himself pinned below the younger male, panting and yelping as he was struck over and over and bleeding furiously. It was obvious he had lost, and there was no hope of recovering the fight in his favor. At this point, all he could do was hope to survive. But it was rather obvious that his attacker had no intent of letting up on him.

Molly scrambled to her feet as Coven flew at Blitz, her recovery rather slow because of her size. This meant that she had less time to react, and by the time she realized what was happening, it was already too late. She saw Blitz sink to the ground, her eyes widening and her muzzle parting in a cry to her mate. "Coven! Stop! You're killing him!" She cried, too fearful for their pups to rush in and get in the middle of things, but positive that if Coven didn't stop, Blitz would be killed by one of his attacks.

The beginning of the End (pack split thread) Empty
PostSubject: Re: The beginning of the End (pack split thread)   The beginning of the End (pack split thread) EmptyTue Jun 12, 2012 12:37 pm

Though battle-frenzied, Coven wasn't so out of touch that he wasn't able to respond to Molly's distraught cry. With the other male pinned and subdued, the warrior quit attacking and stood panting, jaws parted in a bloodied snarl, and glaring down at his foe, realizing with a jolt that it was Blitz. The alpha! Slowly as his mind cleared, the comprehension of this fight's consequences began to set in. There was no jolt of panic, or even shock, as Coven - still preventing the beaten male from moving - focused his eyes on the air near Blitz's head and tried to come up with what to do now. More specifically, where to go. Because, after all this time, there was no more option for him to stay.

The last look Coven directed down at Blitz was rather cold, as there were more important lives on his mind than his former alpha's, but in that quick assessment, it was clear that the older wolf wasn't going to fight back...couldn't fight back. Backing up, but keeping his eyes on the other male, the black wolf got off Blitz and directed serious words at Molly, "It's time for me to get going...what do you want to do?" He couldn't even really deal with any emotions relating to Blitzen at the moment. All that was on his mind was that he was in trouble, and could Molly handle a journey, or would she be able to be safe staying here? Perhaps they wouldn't have to go too far, not even out of the pack lands - because honestly, Molly probably couldn't make it to that point, not even considering the idea of her surviving out there, even with Coven's help at this point. Molly was familiar with the caves...and they'd be easier to defend. Perhaps that'd be their destination...if there was going to be a 'their'.

Molly's eyes were wide with panic, even though Coven seemed more concerned with her than what had just happened. "I...uh...I'm going with you. Wherever you go." She said, her ears flat against her head as she looked to her mate for direction. She didn't know what to do, she only knew that Blitz now lay bleeding on the ground and when the pack returned, they'd surely kill whoever was responsible. Coven needed to get out of here, and she couldn't bring herself to stay here without him, not knowing if she'd ever see him again. "I can make it." She reassured him, doing her best to make herself look fit for a journey.

Blitz remained still beneath Coven as the black male ceased his attacks, his breathing labored and his head growing light and his vision blurring. He was growing weaker by the minute, and there was no way he could get to his feet or even move as his blood seeped out from all over as a result of Coven's fangs. All he could do was hold onto life with a fragile grasp, his eyes finding Rayne's blurry form nearby.

Still watching Blitz, though now knowing that there wasn't much point anymore, the male responded, "Alright...let's get going." One day he would be able to look back and feel remorse for Blitz, but Molly was all that was important at the moment. Thankfully, Rayne wasn't going to be an issue - he would feel bad about fighting her, though he'd go through with it anyway if necessary.

Looking toward Molly, Coven moved to her side and pressed his side against hers before edging out in a half a length lead, directing them both toward the mountains. It really was the only place he could think of that would be accessible - even if that accessibility was immensely difficult - to the very pregnant female. Ridge - impossible; rapids - impossible; forest - too far, too many loners, and too unprotected. As they walked as quickly as possible onward, Coven was silent, calculating worries and repercussions in his head. Too bad Rayne had been there. Too bad Blitz was so well-loved...

Molly followed Coven silently, still panicking as he led the way to the mountains. She knew now where he was going, and she moved as quickly as she could behind him, doing her best not to fall behind. Being lazy right now was not an option, and she knew she had no option of a break. They needed to get out, before the pack arrived to find their beloved leader dying on the ground at the hand of Coven. She would follow her mate to the ends of the earth, though, and her love for him outweight her love for Blitz by far, so there really was no option for her.

Karbon was dealing with an obnoxious pair of yearlings, namely Bleu and Bandit, as Coven and Molly arrived. He looked up in confusion at first, but then decided that wherever they were going, they weren't going to get there without help. "Bleu, Bandit, help Molly." He said, directing the two youngsters to help the pregnant female who was now stumbling, as he turned to help Coven. "Where are you going, and what can I do?" He asked, for some reason feeling a strange loyalty to the older male that seemed to be rather determined to get out of here.

Coven paused and tilted his head in pure confusion at Karbon's approach and directions to the two pups. Of everything today, this was what had him doing a double-take. Glancing over for a second at Molly, the male couldn't help but be somewhat relieved that someone was paying attention to her wound. The importance of movement had outweighed that one; and it would again, in a few moments.

After considering not telling Karbon anything and just moving on, the black wolf ended up huffing an impatient sigh and briefly answering. "We are headed for the eroded caves. We're leaving the pack," he announced, getting that over with so Karbon could realize there was nothing for him to help with. They weren't pack mates anymore. "Blitz isn't going to make it much longer, and we're headed off to lie low and let Molly recover for a bit; then we'll probably be on our own way. There's really not much you can do for us, so don't worry about it." If Karbon knew that Coven was responsible for Blitz's state, perhaps he'd be much less interested in helping. Not doubting the male's intelligence, Coven figured he'd put that together pretty soon, and if there were anything he would ask, need be, it would be for Karbon to just let them pass and not start something here.

Molly sighed in relief as Bleu came to her aid, and she couldn't help but smile thankfully as the younger female licked her shoulder clean. It was still hurting badly, and with the youngsters helping her, they were moving much faster now. Even though the pups had been driving Coven crazy since their birth, Molly had actually grown to be rather fond of Bleu, although she'd never tell Coven that. She didn't know what it was, but the little female reminded her of herself when she was younger, just a little bolder than she had been. "Coven, they have already helped us, they'll get in trouble for that. Why don't they just come with? I can't tend to my wounds, yours, and make sure these puppies are healthy. I'm going to need help. Plus, you and I both know that you're never going to be able to care for me on your own out there, no matter how amazing you are." She said softly, looking hopefully up at her mate as if she had just found an abandoned pet and was begging him to let her keep it.

Karbon was surprised by the situation, but he had to admit, he felt no loyalty to this pack, and the white female, Molly, was right. There was no way that Coven would be able to take care of a pregnant, injured female on his own, especially in his condition. So he decided, shaking his head and brushing off the black male's dismissal. "I'm coming with you. This pack is too big for my liking anyways." He said, and since he had been thinking about leaving lately anyways, he didn't really think twice now.

Bleu was a bit more hesitant with the whole idea. Sure, she wanted to go with Molly, a female that she had been looking up to lately, but she was hesitant to leave her parents. Sure, she had Bandit with her, and that was all she needed, but she'd miss her mother and father, and hell, even Teras. But she had been digging herself a deeper and deeper hole with her pranks, as had Bandit, and as they got older, the pack had less and less patience and was definitely beginning to resent them both. "I'm coming too!" She said, shooting Coven a death glare that threatened him to protest. She wasn't backing down to the larger, older wolf this time. She had decided, and that was final. After glaring at him for a moment longer, she returned to tending Molly's injured shoulder and helping her limp towards the caves.

PostSubject: Re: The beginning of the End (pack split thread)   The beginning of the End (pack split thread) EmptyTue Jun 12, 2012 1:43 pm

Coven almost dropped his jaw at Molly's suggestion. His face openly displayed his incredulity at this idea, but the wolf kept his mouth closed until the sense of this could sink in. And thus they gained a few companions. "Alright," conceded Coven, not really debating, just waiting to adjust to the idea, "We're heading to the caves." Meeting Bleu's gaze, the male returned her glare. They were tagging along with him and Molly, and decisions were his and hers alone for now. Because the healer needed help herself, Coven let Bleu's challenging stare slide, but no way would he be putting up with that later. Bleu had a home, and she could return to it at anytime, whether it be a decision of hers or his.

Slowly the group made it to the base of the mountains and began their assent. Coven looked back toward the dens and cocked an ear, wondering now that he had cooled down slightly - though he was perhaps even more stressed than before - just what was going on over there. What would be in store for everyone? He, Molly, and Blitz had made dumb mistakes, and it was costing all of them a lot, perhaps more than they could foresee at the moment.

Molly smiled as Coven agreed, but was soon frowning and wincing again as they continued their journey to the caves. It wouldn't be long before they reached them, and with the help of Bleu, Bandit, and Karbon, they would make it there faster, and more more prepared to defend themselves if they needed to. Soon she found herself staring at the maze of caves, sighing in relief that they'd finally made it. It would be much easier for Coven to defend her here, and himself. Plus, they had three other wolves to help with that now as well. She, with the help of Bleu, slowly made her way into the den she had occupied when she had run off, sighing in relief when she found that her makeshift bed was still there. It would do for now, but later on they'd need to fix up the place a bit more. But for now, she just needed to lay down. She winced as she sank into the moss and fur, whining softly and flattening her ears to her head as she felt the pups wrestling each other inside of her. Damn kids, was this really the time for that? She groaned softly, rolling awkwardly onto her side and letting her head fall to the ground with a soft thud as her eyes closed and she panted heavily to catch her breath.

Bleu helped Molly to her bed, frowning as the white female laid down and panted, her breathing sounding dangerously labored. But she seemed to be alright, for the most part, as the younger female licked at her injury again and tried her best to assess the damage. Molly had taught her a thing or two about healing, but in reality, she didn't know much, so at this point, all she knew was to keep it clean so it wouldn't get infected. She'd have to wait till Molly could tell her what to do in order to know the next step.

Karbon followed the group to the caves, coming to a stop as Bleu led Molly inside. Then he turned to Coven, tilting his head slightly. "She can't go any further." He said softly, knowing that the other male already knew that. "We should probably mark the area, hopefully it'll warn anyone away. I'm not about to leave an injured and pregnant female and her injured mate to die here alone. You're stuck with me." He said, for some reason feeling the intense need to stick around and actually help the pair out. Plus, it felt good to leave the pack and still have some sort of companionship.

PostSubject: Re: The beginning of the End (pack split thread)   The beginning of the End (pack split thread) EmptyTue Jun 12, 2012 5:17 pm

The entire fight Rayne sat idly by, not knowing what to do, she didn't even fully comprehend what happened, not at all. It was... so fast, all she knew was she stepped from the den, and suddenly Molly came, and bit her?! Then all of a sudden Blitz was over her... and now BLitz and Coven were fighting! It was a quick fight to, and all Rayne could do was move to BLitz's side as he now lay on the ground, bloodied, and badly. She glanced back up towards the other two, but they were already leaving... "Blitz... no... are.. are you alright?! I.. I'll go get something to stop the bleeding, I..." She started to move, started for the healers den, frantic, panicing, he was bleeding, badly, she was scared, but she could barely even move, tripping over herself as she tried to rush, crying already. She.. she had to do something... she was a healer.. she could help, couldn't she? She had to...

The entire commotion was quite big, loud enough for Sib to hear, his ears perking as he rushed out, not at all noticing he just left Tessa and the pups laying there in the den. They'd catch up, but whatever was happening outside was more so important. He got over to them right as soon as Molly and Coven were leaving, rushing to Rayne's side as she lay there, crying, next to her the bleeding Blitz. It was obvious what happened, the bite in Rayne's shoulder, and Blitz... He looked away, not wanting to see all the blood... He was silent though, he knew what was going to happen, no doubt Blitz wasn't going to make it... he was already getting on the older side... He looked at Rayne, worry filling him. "Rayne.... I'm sorry... I... I promise you, Coven will pay." He said, standing. It wasn't that they had already had problems, but, now that Coven had killed Blitz, killed their leader, killed his sister's mate, his sister's pups father... he couldn't just let him leave and get away. He took off running, not even hearing his sister's "wait" as he ran off, not thinking to tell Tessa and his own pups what he was doing. It was his sister, he would be the worst brother in the world to just let Coven leave after that. Luckily, it wasn't hard to follow their trail, it was fresh enough.

PostSubject: Re: The beginning of the End (pack split thread)   The beginning of the End (pack split thread) EmptyTue Jun 12, 2012 5:29 pm

The light was fading quickly, and all he could hear now was muffled voices and Rayne's sobs. Then, with all the strength he could muster, he lifted his head to look directly at Rayne. "Rayne, love. Please, don't fall apart. I can't live forever. I'm so sorry I'm going to miss the birth of our pups. You're going to be a wonderful mother." He said, pausing to take a slow, labored breath. "I love you, and I want you to promise me something. Promise me that you'll keep going, you'll be the wonderful mother that you are meant to be, that you'll tell our pups about their father, and how much he loved their mother. Promise me, Rayne." He whispered, his head sinking slowly to the ground as he stopped speaking for a few minutes. Then he blinked up at her again, his ears flat against his skull now. "And Rayne, if you ever see Inferno again, please tell him I'm sorry things ended that way between us. He was one of my most trusted friends, and I miss him dearly. I love you, Rayne." He whispered again, slowly feeling the life begin to slip from his grasp until he was lying lifeless in the middle of the pack dens, his bloodflow finally ceasing for good.

Tessa was on her feet and following Sib out of the den only moments after he bolted out, her eyes widening as she spotted Blitz. But it was Sib's form flying into the trees that made her move. She bolted after him, running as fast as she could to catch him and stop him before he got himself killed as well. Even injured, Coven was still stronger than him. Sib was no warrior, and he was not trained in combat like the black male was. "Sib! Wait! Please!!!" She cried, nearly in tears and feeling as if her lungs were burning up in her chest as she ran her hardest to catch him before he got hurt as well.

PostSubject: Re: The beginning of the End (pack split thread)   The beginning of the End (pack split thread) EmptyTue Jun 12, 2012 5:44 pm

Rayne whined softly through the tears as Blitz spoke, the only word going through her mind was "no", repeatedly, he couldn't die now... he had to live, this couldn't be real... it was a bad dream.. that's all, and she'd wake up from it. She knew that was a lie though, and soon her face was buried in his fur, still crying, listening as he spoke. "I...I..." She couldn't even say anything, only watch as he drifted away slowly, and soon, nothing. Her face still buried in his lifeless body, crying uncontrollably now. He... he was dead, just like that, it... it couldn't be real, it couldn't. She couldn't even bring herself to move, laying there, thinking maybe, maybe he'd just come back... maybe he wasn't really dead.. though that was a joke, she was a healer, she knew he was dead... it didn't take much to know that...

Sib keep running, even as he heard Tessa's voice yelling for him behind him. She had to understand... he couldn't just stop, just let it go... how could he live with himself if he did? How could he face Rayne if he just let Coven run off freely? Tessa had to know how he felt... He knew he couldn't stand up to Coven in a fight, if even Blitz couldn't then Sib had no chance, but... that didn't matter, he killed him... and, he had to pay... So he didn't stop running, trying to run faster now, wanting to lose Tessa, if something did happen, he didn't want her there, not like Rayne.. if something happened he didn't want Tessa standing over his dying body.. no, that wouldn't happen!

Tessa continued to run as fast as she could, but she was forced to forefit safety for speed, and now she found herself stumbling and leaping over things that she couldn't manage to in a million years. Soon she made a risk that was much too dangerous, and her foot got caught in a tasty tangle of vines and sent her crashing down with an incredibly loud, painful yelp. She remained still for several moments, the intense pain shooting up her leg and into her shoulder as she whimpered and tried to clear her now reeling head, which had conveniently hit a rather hard stump on her way down, leaving her dizzy and disoriented.

Dakota had been wandering around the packlands that morning, for once without her brother, and she now returned to the dens with a surprisingly full stomach. Her hunting skills were improving, thanks to lots and lots of practice. But when she reached the dens, the sight that she was greeted with, healer sobbing, alpha dead, dens abandoned, she couldn't hold it in and threw up. She had never seen anything like it before, and she whimpered, frozen in confusion and fear as she looked around, desperate for the sight of her brother.

The only thing that could make him stop seemed to happen, Tessa got hurt, her yelp making his ears twitch as he came to a skidding stop. Already cursing under his breath he ran to her, getting over to her and sitting there beside her. Wonderful, she just had to follow... why couldn't she just stay at the dens? Why... why did she have to follow him. "Tessa.... why? you shouldn't have come..." He said silently, gently nudging her. She seemed to have hurt herself quite a bit... that wasn't good, but, it wasn't like there was a healer around right now, so he was left to help her. "Are you alright? Can you get up at all?" He asked, looking at her, lost again. His mind had been so made up on going after Coven, and for the most part, it still was, but Tessa was more important, and her getting hurt was a delay to his plan. Though, he already knew Tessa was going to try and talk him out of it... he expected that... couldn't she just understand how he felt?

Tessa knew he was expecting her to talk him out of going after Coven, but she knew it wouldn't work. Her only choice at this point was to distract him long enough so that there was no hope of finding the other male. She whimpered softly as he spoke, her ears flat against her head as she refrained from speaking and instead tried to free herself, only succeeding in tangling herself even more in the vines. Damn it. She growled in frustration, not only at the vines, but at her mate, finally giving up and collapsing in a huff on the ground.

Her silence wasn't really a good thing, in fact, her silence sorta made Sib uncomfortable. It would have been better if she had just straight out and said something, anything, but nothing. Her silence scared him a bit... was she really that mad at him about this? He just sighed, looking at the vines that tangled her leaning forward and trying to chew through them for her. He stayed quiet as he did it too, lost for words, wishing he knew what to say right now, though nothing came to mind, and so he just continued to try and get her free. It took a little while, to chew through each and every vine, but, finally managing to get though the last on, he stepped back, laying down and softly nudging her. "You need help getting up, Tessa?" he said quietly, looking at her, an almost sorry look on his face. He could help but feel like she was mad at him... why else would she have just said nothing... and it wasn't like she didn't have any reason to be... her anger would have been justified, he knew that.

Tessa continued to remain silent until she was finally free, and then she carefully got to her feet, finding, to her distress, that she was unable to put weight on her right front paw. Damn. That was going to be an issue. But she was on her feet, brushing away his offer to help her stand. Obviously she didn't need it. But her silence wasn't only because she was unhappy with Sib and thrown by Blitz's death. It was the scents that she had been picking up this whole time along side Molly's and Coven's. "Sib, Bleu and Bandit went with them, I can smell them. There's nothing we can do. They're old enough to make their own choices." She said softly, looking over towards the direction the youngsters had left in and then back up at her mate. Would she ever see her children again? "Please, Sib. Please don't go after them. We've already lost Blitz, I can't handle loosing you too." She whispered, her voice nearly a whimper as she sat down to lick gingerly at her injured paw.

He sat up along with her seeing obviously she didn't need help. He just stared at her, though his stare moving back out towards the woods. Coven and Molly's scent would have already dissipated by now... so tracking them would be even more difficult. Though, as she started to speak, he turned back to her, his eyes widening as she said Bleu and Bandit had left with them. Their own pups left? why? With Coven of all people?! He let out a soft growl, annoyed even more so now. Then came her pleading... the thing he expected from when he first ran back to her. "Fine, so Bleu and Bandit ran off with them... that's their choice, though I can't possibly see why, but you expect me to just do nothing? Because of Coven my own sister's pups will have to grow up, never knowing their own father, it's his fault she's the mess she is now, that Blitz now lays dead in a pool of his own blood, but you want me to do nothing but sit back? How could you ask me that? What kind of brother would I be if I did that?" He asked, looking at her.

Tessa found herself flinching at Sib's words, as if he were blaming her for everything, not just Coven. She didn't want him to get himself killed. Was that too much to ask? "Yes, your sister's pups will not have their father, and she has lost her mate, yes. But does that make it ok for you to take mine away from me too?" She asked, looking down at the ground as she spoke before looking up at him, her expression hurt and frustrated. He only knew the anger that filled him because of what Coven had done, but he didn't see what would happen if he followed through with it. "I've lost a lot here, too, Sib. We all loved Blitz, and two of my pups are gone, and I'm likely never going to see them again. Now you're just going to get yourself killed and leave me all alone with Teras? How could you ask ME to do THAT??" She asked, her ears flicked back in not just fear and sadness, but also anger now. How dare he lash out at her like this and make her feel guilty when she was loosing just as much as well. She didn't deserve that. Finally she took a deep breath, looking away from him and sighing softly. "Sib, your sister needs YOU right now. More than she needs revenge." She said softly, her voice barely a whisper as she avoided eye contact with him now.

The beginning of the End (pack split thread) Empty
PostSubject: Re: The beginning of the End (pack split thread)   The beginning of the End (pack split thread) EmptyTue Jun 12, 2012 7:39 pm

It had been a lazy day today; the pups were being bothersome. Hell, they were barely pups anymore at a year old. Terah still thought it was good to keep a good eye on them, especially Bleu and Bandit. Dante and Dakota were her favourites, the sibling pair being very close and protective of each other. Teras was the unlucky one, and Terah amused herself by the similarity of their names. But still she knew he would be a special one, having no special partner in crime or such. Terah was glad she'd spent the last year here with that job; it made life interesting, she never got mad when the pups pranked her. But today she just relaxed, nearly falling asleep when she heard an assortment of familiar growls from the centre of the dens. The old wolf jumped up immediately but got to the dens slightly too late. Rayne was mourning over the newly dead body of Blitz, and the others had run off. "Where has everyone else gone to in a time like this?" Terah walked over to Rayne and sat beside her, giving a comforting nudge, however comforting that may be. Terah spotted Dakota just by them, throwing up. Worried, Terah almost got up, but she saw Dante two seconds later, and figured Rayne needed the company.

Dante had been out hunting, since he knew his sister was too. He was an alright hunter, but he felt his strength could go towards being a warrior. It didn't fit his family lineage, but he felt like he could do better. Triumphant after a successful fight with a small rabbit, he paraded right back to the dens, only to see his sister with vomit on the ground. "Dakota!" He ran up next to her and nudged her, but he then saw what she saw. He kept a calm face but on the inside he was panicking. Blitz had been one of the wolves he looked up to in the pack; he was the alpha! What would happen now?! He let out a little whimper as he stepped closer to Dakota.

Laek was out hunting as well; she had heard the cries, but before she could get to the dens, she encountered Tessa and Sib. Tessa seemed to be injured and Sib seemed to be angry. Did this have anything to do with the growls she heard earlier? Laek shook her head and ran up to them. "Tessa! What's wrong with your paw?" Although assumptions could be made about the close thorn bush, it didn't hurt to ask. It took a moment for Laek to realize she had intruded a moment, as she pulled her ears back. What in the world had she missed?

Certain growls and cries caused Pravin to bolt from the Eastern Forest border right to the dens area. He couldn't have cries like that echoing through the territory of his land. Yes; he was okay with calling Silverlight his land now. He had been the beta for little short of a year. He'd gotten attached to this pack, after having so much to do with it. It wasn't what he expected when he first arrived, but oh well! The familiarity in the voices wasn't comforting either. Pravin's form thundered into the dens area, only to stop short at the sight of Rayne, Terah, Dakota, and Dante. Most importantly at the sight of his fellow leader, dead and bleeding on the ground. It was an upsetting sight, Pravin emitting a small growl in response.

((Antero continued - with time lapse - from here: https://incendio.rpg-board.net/t117p15-back-to-the-beginning-open#2416 ))

It had been interesting, wandering the borders here for so long. Why the hell had he stayed in these lands? It wasn't to keep track of Pravin; although Antero always took the chance to see what his half brother was doing. Antero was just waiting for something to slip. The cries from the centre of the lands did not worry him, as he traveled along to borders. The caves were up ahead, and those were always a good place to sleep. He had made a home in there, in a den with an already made bed, as if some other wolf had slept there before. He didn't mind really; they never returned. But today was different. New scents had invaded his cave, and there were two wolves right there! With a small growl, he walked up to the two males. "Say! What are you doing here at my den?!"

The beginning of the End (pack split thread) Empty
PostSubject: Re: The beginning of the End (pack split thread)   The beginning of the End (pack split thread) EmptyTue Jun 12, 2012 7:53 pm

Dakota nearly fell against her brother for support when he came over, soon finding herself shaking and sinking into a crouching position. They were barely a year old. Neither of them was prepared to deal with something like this. Where was there mother and father when they needed them the most? She trembled even harder now, her eyes frozen on Blitz's cold form until suddenly, the shape of her father blocked her view. "Dad!" She cried, abandoning Dante's side and leap at her father and bury her head in his fur. She had always looked up to their father, even if no one in the pack seemed to like him. He and Dante were her heroes, and all she wanted to do was hide in his fur and wish this all away.

Casanova saw Blitz's body right away when he arrived at the dens, but he instantly noticed his petrified children and moved to their sides. However, he had barely reached them when Dakota bounded to his side and burried her face in his fur. "Dante. Help me get your sister to the lake. She doesn't need to see any more of this. And neither do you." He said, trying to keep his voice steady and calm to keep the young wolves calm as well.

Molly jolted in surprise at the sudden appearance of a new male wolf, but she didn't really need to move, since Bleu's defensive snarl echoed through the makeshift den as a response. She found herself shifting slightly to look up at Antero, blinking calmly and glancing up at Bleu and then back at him. "It was my den first, hun." She said softly, not having the energy to fight with him right now. Hopefully Karbon, Coven, and Bandit would take care of it.

Karbon snarled instinctively as Antero showed up, placing himself between the other male and the females automatically. "Who the hell are you?" He demanded, glancing back at the surprisingly calm Molly and the still snarling Bleu. "Keep your distance from the females, and you won't get hurt. It's three against one here, and your odds don't look too good." He threatened, taking a threatening step toward the other male and glancing around to see where Bandit and Coven had gone. By their scents, not too far, but just in case, he wanted this male to know they were here.

Tessa lifted her head and jumped slightly at the appearance of Laek. "Laek! I'm fine. Well, I hurt my paw, but I'll be alright." She said, dreading the news that she had to spill on the other female. "Coven killed Blitz." She said softly, tears swimming in her eyes as she did her best to hold herself together. But alongside her friend and fellow mother, she couldn't hold it in. Even with Sib there, she found herself seeking comfort in the other female. But she didn't know how Laek would react, so she didn't move at all.

PostSubject: Re: The beginning of the End (pack split thread)   The beginning of the End (pack split thread) EmptyTue Jun 12, 2012 7:57 pm

He looked at her, confused, and speechless again as she spoke. He.. he didn't mean it that way... he didn't want to just leave her alone, he just... didn't know what else he could do but go after Coven. Either way it seemed he'd end up doing the wrong thing, at least in his mind. Either leave Tessa, and go after him, or stay here with Tessa, and Teras, and just leave Coven alone. Either choice seemed to bother him now... so he just stayed silent, looking to the ground and sighing. He couldn't ask her to do that, to just let him go out and get himself killed over this, but he also couldn't just no do anything. He laid back down, his gaze still toward the ground. Even if he did go back, what would he say to Rayne, that he was sorry? What could he do to even help? She just lost her mate... there wasn't anything he could think of that would help with her pain. Though, just as he was about to speak Laek came running up. He glanced over at her, sighing, then looking back at Tessa, "No matter what I do it's going to be wrong Tessa... but your right, I can't just ask you to do that... I'm sorry. Though, I can't go back to the dens... not yet.... I don't even know what I would say.. what I would do..." He said, not saying anything else as he went back to being quiet, laying there as Laek stood near.

Rayne had practically went blank as she laid there, not paying attention to anything else, lost in her own sadness. Nothing else mattered now... She barely even moved when Terah nudged her, not moving, her body staying still as she lay next to Blitz's body. She didn't want to move, not do anything, but, what Blitz said before he died, it just keep repeating itself in her head. How could she go on now? The pack seemed like it was just going to break apart, and yet she was supposed to somehow keep going without him?

The beginning of the End (pack split thread) Empty
PostSubject: Re: The beginning of the End (pack split thread)   The beginning of the End (pack split thread) EmptyTue Jun 12, 2012 8:33 pm

Dante couldn't keep his eyes off the dead Blitzen and the mourning Rayne. His emotions shut off, and he really couldn't feel the pain that he knew was hitting Dakota. All of a sudden, he saw his father blocking his vision. Dante's gaze broke as he looked at his sister breaking down into their father's fur. Casanova ordered Dante to help get Dakota to the lake. He nodded, but looked just around his Dad one more time. The image became ingrained in his mind before he turned around and nudged Dakota. "Come on sis, you heard Dad." He tried to push her in the direction. He knew Cas was right; it was nothing for a pup to see.

Antero appreciated that the injured female had politely explained that it was her den first. That explained the bedding that was left. He nodded and was about to speak when a black male stepped up and took up a protective stance. Antero couldn't help but be a little offended; yeah, he was a brute, but he simply growled. He had not shown any intention for attack other than that. "I'm Antero; I've been sleeping here for good a year, I think I have reason enough to want to wonder why the hell you all are here! The nice little female there was good enough to explain! I have no intention of hurtin' any of you! Threaten me anymore, maybe I will!" Antero nodded to Molly in thanks for the explanation, and peaked inside the den, taking note of the growling Bleu. "I fixed up that bed a bit, it might be a bit big for you now." Antero softened his voice to talk to Molly, but turned back to glare at Karbon. "Guess I'll find a new den." He wanted to spit right at the other wolf's paws, but he merely turned towards the direction of the falls.

Laek was glad to know that her friend was okay, she was just hurt in the paw. Injuries to the paw were never that bad, so she knew that her friend would be fine. But then Tessa spilled the news; Laek had stepped into a moment, and it wasn't quite the news she wanted to hear. Laek could clearly see that Tessa was getting emotional, so she stepped forward and leaned into her friend, giving Tessa the mental and physical support. Laek herself couldn't quite process it. Blitz had been her friend for so long, but Coven was one of her great friends here. She knew that Blitz and Coven have been at it for a while, but for death to occur?! Laek couldn't take it, so she simply tried not to think of it.

Terah wasn't sure what to do when Rayne didn't respond to her nudge. Casanova had shown up and was trying to take his pups away from the scene. Pravin had crashed into the area, growling his clear anger. Terah only knew that she couldn't do much. She lay down beside Rayne and groomed the female's fur for lack of anything to say. Behind her, Pravin was prepared to call for a meeting, but he would let Rayne mourn. But afterwards, he would keep the body here and have the meeting. They needed to talk. Badly.
