Appearance: Zetos stands nearly 2 foot 8 inches from paw to shoulder. The wolves span from banner tip to snout is 6 foot 5 inches. His dark gray fur is knotted in various locations from his time as a rogue. The lupus' has been malnourished and his skin clings to his bones for dear life. The brute has ash-blue eyes surrounded by midnight-black lids. There are no easy markings to spot on the beast other than scars, but even then those are nothing to make him truly unique. The closest to unique the male can be is the white fur that has slowly gained around his mouth clashing with the black lips and the rest of his snout.

On most occasions Zetos will let his tail hang behind him, drooping to touch the ground appearing to be quite relaxed and comfortable with his place in life. However such actions should not be held as his be-all end-all, when Zetos feels threatened he is instantly pushed to become aggressive bristling and flicking his ears straight up; snarling to display the dangerous yellowed incisors that are hidden behind his black lips. Zetos is far from a fool, his life has taught him that each wolf has his or her place and they do their very best lest they wish demotion... or worse.

Having brought this knowledge on at a very young age the dark wolf is quick to assert himself and to make sure others do the same, lest they meet with his wrath. Defeat is very much an option, he believes that he could never truly be in charge of a pack but will gladly support the alpha and show his submission to them at any point they wish it of him. Some of Zetos's history has tainted him though, he does not believe that any wolf should be left alive if there is ever a war waged between packs, pups should not have a second chance or even a first chance when they have been captured after a successful pack attack. Though towards outsiders Zetos is harsh the male is caring for those who are in his pack and he would willingly give his life to protect them as long as they did not go against the will of the alpha. Sometimes the brute shows weakness, when he remembers his past, his loss, he forgets his present and has been known to sulk and become depressed.

Because of his life the male grows hostile when the “other forest” is mentioned too much around him. Though he tries to withhold the contempt when it comes to pack mates if another wolf were to mention it they would be chancing a fight.

From even the youngest times of his life the brute had been taught by both his mother and father. His mother had been the healer of the pack, and as his father always referred to her, “The girl with her head in the clouds.” She told Zetos stories of the great packs before them, of the awe-inspiring alpha’s who had ran their pack who now rested among the stars always watching. However, his father had different plans for his son. Zetos was one of the larger wolves in the pack, not the biggest but he was certainly able to throw his weight about if need be. His father believed that because he was the elite his son would be as well so he began the training at a young age.

As Zetos grew many wolves fell to him in spars, he was becoming a hardened warrior, at 8 months he had taken on the alpha’s son and won. This had caused some ripples through the pack some astonished and some uncomfortable. His father was known as a hard man, and the thought of Zetos stepping into the Alpha role was a fearful topic for them. However Zetos had no intentions of doing that, he was just doing as he was told. It was within the wolf’s nature to please his father and in doing so the stories of the land beyond were slowly let go.

Reaching about a year in maturity he was introduced to a slightly older she-wolf. She was new to the pack and was taking some flak for her lack of hunting skill. One day the alpha’s son decided he wanted to go after her, Zetos had heard the gnashing and crying out further. He knew her voice, and he ran out to find out what was happening. He came across the larger male trying to take advantage of the much smaller female. Fiercely he flung himself into battle before the femme could become even more hurt. Both males went at it hard, many yelps and growls followed, finally a snap could be heard, Zetos’s powerful jaws had rend right through the other males leg causing him to break the bone within. When the elders came across them they were astonished, Zetos stood over the alpha’s son, growling with teeth sunk in the neck, the weakened male whining beneath him. It was at that point that Zetos found out that his pack ran on a demotion principal, to lose in a battle made you less, to win in a battle made you greater.

At a year and a half Zetos was known as an elite in training under his father. He was seen as a fair wolf unlike his father, but his punishments were harsher than they had been used to before. The omega turned warrior she-wolf had grown attached to him as well, and he to her. There was no separating the two unless Zetos had training, his father at first disapproving of the two until he saw that the female was too a strong wolf. The male and female sparred all the time, enjoying each other’s company the whole while.

At two years the two mated and joined, his beautiful wolf had become pregnant with their first litter. He had been so excited, completely unaware of the omega lurking about around his den. 2 months later, as night slowly approached the male had gone on a hunt with his pack leading the charge for the first time as a true Elite in the pack. When he came back though something was not right, there was a strange scent that came from his den, a scent of a certain wolf he had bettered long before. Without hesitation the male charged home to find his mate on the ground teeth about her neck with the omega trying to crush the life from her. Zetos would not have it, the large male barreled into the omega careening the wolf into a wall. A fight for the centuries burst out, flesh flying, fur falling, an omega’s ear laying on the ground. Finally it was over though, Zetos snapped his jaw shut about the windpipe of the Alpha’s son, the life leaving the male slowly as the fierce Elite’s gray eyes peered deep into the dying amber below him.

When the pack came they found the lifeless body trapped between the teeth, shocked at the scene. It was clear what had happened here and his mother fraily pushed her way through the crowd coming to the side of his mate. Zetos knowing that he could do nothing pulled the carcass from his den through the gawking onlookers. Confronted by the alpha staring at the lifeless body of his son and then up to Zetos the elite dropped the body looking away. “It had to be done.” The alpha spoke, the elite could hear the hatred in his voice. The joy of his leader, he had killed him, and there was nothing that could be done by either of them.

Two years and 7 months was the first time that the brute’s cubs came along on a hunt with their father, now that they were 4 months old. His alpha had taken the lead to allow Zetos the chance to teach his children about the hunt. A father could never feel so proud as he did then, watching his young ones doing all they could to keep up with the hunters before them, his watchful eyes never leaving them. When the wolves finally caught the deer it was shared between the pack, his little ones being just as ferocious as the rest, rending flesh from bone with the small milk teeth. His mate pressed up to his side giving the brute a lick across the cheek having seen the joy in his eyes.

Two years 9 months, the hunting pack came across rival pack during a hunt, when they returned they showed the alpha the cubs they had captured. Zetos was against it and wanted the cubs either thrown out or put down. He was met with scorn from all sides including his mate. His children disdained him for his view on it asking “What if they were us?” The following days wolves began to disappear, their scents being removed from the land altogether it seemed. Finally within a week the pack was growing hungry, Zetos would not allow his mate or cubs to come as going out had obviously become more dangerous. The brute knew it was because they had the young ones in their pack now, and the alpha decided that they were strong enough to help the hunting party. What happened while they were out was exactly what Zetos had expected. The three omega’s lunged at the group from behind, with the commotion in the group none of the pack noticed the oncoming ambush that had obviously been planned.

It was a massacre, all because the young omega’s diversion. As he watched the final wolf, his alpha, fall to the onslaught Zetos let his anger grab ahold of him. His mighty form came down on the three 10 month olds, within moments they laid among the dead too, his bloodied and beaten body was forced quickly away from the scene where distraught howls came from. The howls behind him soon died out as he returned to his pack home. There had been an avalanche and he could smell the scent of many young ones and mothers beneath the snow. His eyes grew frantic, his body pulling him to where his den had been, now covered in snow.

The lupus could feel his body giving out against him, hours had been spent helplessly flinging back the frozen crystals trying to reach the scent he knew far to well that was buried within them. The wolf knew he should have stopped, his instincts told him to stop, but something else, something deeper, would not allow him to. As the night moved on and day broke above him he finally met what he had been dreading. The snow parted, within it's confines was a small snout blood frozen to the tip and red outlining the snow that had been around it. The brute's heart sank, frantically he tore through the snow uncovering more and more of his dead litter. Finally he arrived at the contorted lifeless body of his mate. Not even thinking Zetos ran, scurrying out of the hole, out across the sinking ground, he didn't know where he was running all he knew was away.

For nearly 4 months the brute ran, he didn’t stop, he ran not knowing where he was going or where he’d end up. The visions of death filled his mind, seeing the murdered trio, his own work, returning to his own dead pack. The male was defeated inside, he was running from himself, from his past, from everything he had lost. His loves were all dead, his reasons for living buried in the snow to stay. The wolf was not looking for a place to stay, he was looking for a place to escape, and he did, stumbling across the border of Pines Summit.
