As Khalessi neared the pack dens, it was easy to tell she wasn't in the best condition. Her usual regal and prideful posture was beaten and broken. She carried her head low, feet dragging against the earthen floor and her white and elegant coat was soiled. Clumps of dried mud clung to the edges of her fur. It was matted and dreaded in some areas and her ears and tail were blackened by dirt. She was so tired it was almost too unbearable to cross the last few feet into the pack den. However once there she collapsed into a messy heap and sighed tiredly.

She had been gone a week, deserting the territory to go in search of prey. Her tracking skills had earned her nothing, at first, but when she happened across a small herd of deer she had become excited and thought she stumbled upon something. So, pushing forward she ventured further from the pack, it had become some heartfelt mission to find out where all the prey had disappeared to. Unfortunately, that small herd proved to be an outlier, as none other was discovered and her search clearly led to a dead end. Khalessi had gone days on little sleep and barely any food, her paws were weary and all of it had gone to waste. All that hard work had been for nothing.

The white female sighed again, glancing over the wooded area outside the den. The place looked a bit different than usual, kinda sickly as if some infectious disease had spread across the territory. Khalessi furrowed her brows questioningly, but soon dismissed her thoughts. She closed her watery eyes and gave in to the shame of failure, for the next few hours she would attempt to gain back the sleep she had lost throughout the week.

Blitz had caught her scent probably a few hours after her arrival at the den. He had just returned from a failed hunt and the lack of prey was showing clearly in his form. He was thinner than normal, although he still carried himself proudly and did his best to appear as strong as ever, if not for the pack. He had refused to eat the prey from the storage den, feeling as if it were his duty to feed his pack before himself. But now he entered, fearful that if he starved to death the pack would fall into chaos. But upon entering the den he was dismayed to discover that there was only half of a deer left to eat. The rest was bones or rotting flesh. He growled at the lack of hygene and potential disease threat, dragging the disgusting meat out of the den and disposing of it returning to the storage den. But before he entered, he caught Khalessi's scent. He inhaled deeply, and it seemed as if her scent was different, and the difference disturbed him.

He quickly entered the den, picking up the last piece of meat and heading in the direction of her scent. He found her in her den, collapsed and sleeping. She looked terrible, and his ears pinned back as his eyes clouded with concern. He approached slowly, dropping the meat beside her and moving behind her to lay down and begin to groom her fur. She would only be more miserable when she woke with dirty, matted fur. It would take hours, but he was determined to do all he could to restore her back to her previously gorgeous self. He made no exstensive attempt to wake her, but he doubted she would be asleep much longer as he licked her fur and removed dirt with his teeth carefully. Not to mention there was a meal only inches from her nose.

Although she didn't know exactly what her pack mates looked like, the scents marked in her memory were more than enough to place them in the forest. They were all running in formation, cutting and swerving in different directions, yet it was a practiced dance, one of unity and togetherness. Khalessi need not say a word, but rather the smallest cue alerted them to the different duties assigned to her pack. They were separating the does from the buck, attempting the ultimate challenge of the herd. Instead of the smaller females the pack had decided to go after the feast, the most dangerous of them all. As of now they were cutting of the large and powerful horned beast from the others, chasing him into the trees and nipping at his hindquarter. It was pure luck that they had him on the run, instead of him stubbornly turning around and deciding to defend his right to live. Perhaps he knew, the buck knew that every single member of the pack was starving, mouth watering at the sight of the animal before them. Before this whole situation had even begun, he knew what the outcome would be, he knew his fate rested within the bellies of the wolves.

Bringing him down wasn't as hard as she had thought, even though Khalessi herself had been subjected to a few blows from the sharp hooves, the strikes felt nothing more than little tugs and nudges against her white fur. When the buck gurgled his last breath, they feasted, enjoying the raw passion of satisfying their hunger and celebrating in victory of their accomplishment. Just like that everything was good again, and the tension had finally been released. The pack would return to the dens in a light and easygoing mood.

Khalessi's eyes fluttered open, being greeted by the rays of the afternoon sun. Still tired however, she wasn't exactly perked up and ready to get going just yet. She lied there for a moment closing her eyes once more and trying to escape back into the realm where everything was perfect. But alas after a long moment of no success she released her legs from their cramped position and tensed while in a good stretch. At that very moment she felt her back press into another. Still tired and exhausted, Khalessi wouldn't have bothered to acknowledge this presence, if it hadn't been for her alphas scent that alerted her as to who was there. Ears perked the female slowly lifted her head and turned towards her alpha, expressionless. "Long time no see, Blitz" she greeted in her normally smooth vocals, trying to hide the fact that she was indeed back from her trip with nothing in hand to give him. She sighed softly then suddenly realized the chunk of meat that had been placed by her side. Her stomach growled, but she made no move to retrieve it. She would only feel worse eating from the little supply they had left, especially when it was her duty to fill it. Khalessi averted her eyes to the opening of the den staring off into the distance.

She had yet to realize Blitzs' honorable favor to her, but of course once she had, Khalessi would be grateful for the assistance.

Blitz smiled as she woke, looking down at her silently as she spoke and her words only made his smile wider. He was glad she seemed to be in better shape than she had first appeared. But she needed to eat, and he was determined to get her to do so. He could tell she was avoiding looking at the meat, but he nudged her shoulder stubbornly. "Oh no, you'll eat. I don't care how proud you are." He said, dragging the meat closer to her and nudging her neck insistently. He would wait to alert her to the changes that had happened the evening before, but he was no longer worried about the lack of food. He remained by her side stubbornly, nudging her shoulder stubbornly once more as he waited for her to eat, he wasn't planning on standing down until she did so.

The insistent nudging earned him a glance in his direction, and Khalessi's light eyes connected with his, secretly questioning him. As to what question she was asking was a mystery, but something sparked within her eyes and she only smiled in return. Finally the white female stood shaking off what clung to her coat and she could automatically tell the difference. It felt incredibly lighter and wasn't as heavy as it had been when she arrived. Surprised the lead huntress looked back to her alpha and nodded curtly in thanks.

As for the meal, well, she only had one response for it. No time would come where she would eat before her alpha. "That's not how things work. You starve, I starve with you" she countered then stepped over the meat and started to exit the den. If it came down to it she would catch her own meal. It felt too wrong taking from storage when she was the one who was supposed to be filling it up. Even if they weren't in time of need, she doubted she would succumb to such actions.

In the afternoon sun Khalessi bowed to the earth, stretching once more and enjoying the revitalized state she was in. It wasn't complete but considering what it had been, she had nothing to complain about at the moment. First step of the day was to find some food, not for herself, but the whole pack. Unfortunately to do so would require the help of all her hunters, so for now she would track down the herd, and call them to her once found.

Looking back at where she had left Blitz she smiled and offered her services in thanks of his thorough grooming. "Tonight, I shall help you with the border patrols if you so wish. We can split it 50/50 or if you wish, do it together."

Blitz chuckled slightly at her stubborn behavior. He knew she wanted to hunt for herself, and he respected that. He watched her leave, following her slowly as she turned and spoke to him. He grinned, shaking his head when she spoke of helping with the patrol. "There's no need for that, Inferno shall accompany me on patrol. You just worry about the hunters and the storage den." He said, dismissing her offer. He had helped her because he wanted to, not because he wanted her to be in debt to him. He wouldn't agree to her repaying him anyways. He took care of his pack, end of story.

(oh my goodnes...I'm soooooooooooooooo sorry this is so short >.< )

"Inferno..." Khalessi repeated almost questioningly, knowing that she could only place name to scent instead of image. She looked away from Blitz nodding to his words in acceptance. "So be it, guess I'll get back to work then." She offered a rare smile then pressed her head into his neck, slightly nudging him in thanks. Later, Khalessi would have to reintroduce herself to the pack scent she had lost while away from the territory. For now she figured feeding everyone was more important, and Blitz was more than likely to agree.

Pulling away Kali turned to the trees and trotted off without another word.
