((Continued from: https://incendio.rpg-board.net/t69p15-the-not-so-emotions-of-a-not-so-fox#1015 ))

Chaos's snarl grew more harsh as the male spoke, her ears pinning back as she took a step closer. "Well, Blitz, I see you've really scraped the bottom of the barrel with this one. Where'd you pick him up?" She asked, ignoring the male for the time being as she looked over at Blitz. But she didn't wait for him to respond, for it was obvious that he wanted to stay out of their encounter. So she turned back to Pravin, growling again. "I am Chaos, Head Warrior of Silverlight. And you should learn your place, loner. We wouldn't want you getting banged up now, would we?" She said, barring her teeth and holding back a cynical chuckle. Oh how she loved tormenting new members, and as Tessa came into view, she snapped at her as a warning to keep her distance.

This is where Blitz stepped in. He did not reprimand Chaos, for she technically had done nothing wrong, but he did approach Tessa and nudge her shoulder. "Come and sit by me, away from Chaos. Don't worry, she won't harm you." He said softly, smiling as the shy female came and sat beside him, using the large male's body to shield her from Chaos. But she was still curious about this new male, and she peeked around the alpha's body, looking up at him curiously, but nervously.

Pravin remained seated as Chaos basically insulted him, especially after having no reason to. She introduced herself as head warrior, and he found her hypocritical, as she looked slightly banged up herself. He held in a growl and slightly opened his muzzle in a slight snarl. In the corner of his eye, he saw Blitz walking off to the other female. This was when Pravin finally stood, his figure towering that of Chaos'. Eyes still narrowed, he looked down at her. "Head warrior you may be, what gives you right to throw insult to the air? And it looks as though you've already had a tussle, now we especially don't need another." As he decided to stand his ground, he allowed himself to show a full snarl in return. He would not let a pack member beat him, whatever he was here. Did he want to respect this wolf? Well, that all depended on what happens in the encounter, he knew that well.

Chaos's snarl intensified as the male stood and spoke. He knew nothing of what had happened in the pack, nor what had happened to her. She only wished he could have seen the shape Coven had been in after a fight with her. But there was no point now, and her eyes narrowed in suspicion. She sat down, chuckling at him in amusement as he attempted to threaten her. "Now, now, loner, If you had addressed a pack member of higher rank with more respect, you would not be in your current situation. You'll never make it into this pack unless you learn your place." She said, the last sentence uttered in a threatening snarl.

Tessa watched the pair curiously, shivering as Chaos snarled, hiding behind Blitz. But soon she glanced around him again, looking up at the new male curiously. She thought what he was doing was brave, but foolish. She hadn't seen what Chaos was capable of, but she could tell by the way Blitz didn't interfere, Chaos could hold her own.

Blitz watched the two interact, keeping tabs on Pravin's reactions and making note of his words as he confronted Chaos. That hadn't ended well with Coven, and he didn't want another injured wolf for Molly to have to deal with, so he remained alert and attentive, ready to interfere if he needed to.

Pravin threw away his snarl as Chaos seemed to threaten him. "The current situation?!" he called out, "I do hope you realize you would have had my respect if you had first shown respect to me, a supposed lowly loner." He glared back at her, staying in a standing position. The encounter reminded him of past encounters with his birth pack, and so did she. "Hostility is never the path to honour and respect. And you want my respect." He ended the sentence quietly, showing that if he were to give respect, he'd want it shown to him as well. He would not back down now. "And do tell me, where is my supposed place?" Pravin normally wouldn't have been talking this much, but he could sense the strength in the head warrior, he could feel that she also would not back down. He felt she would enjoy argument.

Chaos grinned, glad to finally tell him what she thought of him. Her tail flicked slightly as she threw a small glance at Blitz before responding to his question as to where his place was. "Outside of the pack borders, where all loners belong." She said, disapproving of the probation Blitz had going for this male. She hadn't enjoyed Coven's either, but at least the black male had an excuse of injury. As did Tessa. This male had no excuse, and it sickened Chaos. "You are not a member of this pack, therefore there is no reason for me to respect you at all." She growled, her eyes narrowing again as she stared him down.

Pravin continued to glare at the female as she continued to speak lowly of his non-existent status. She was a fighter and he was learning that. "Using the same logic, since I am still not a part of your pack, I have no reason to give you respect. But apparently I have to try for it now, since you're making it oh-so troubling for me. If winter wasn't so harsh, I'd be right where you want me." I'll be sure to stay out of your fur if you stay out of mine. he added in his head. He was getting agitated at how she was keeping the fight. Maybe the lands were wrong in calling him here, maybe these supposed spirits had called the wrong wolf.

Chaos growled, but she seemed satisfied with his response for now. Of course she'd stay out of his hair, as long as he kept his distance. Any intelligent wolf in Silverlight knew that. She glanced at Blitz, uttering another snarl at Pravin before growling at Tessa, who had poked her head out from behind Blitz.

Tessa yelped and hid behind Blitz again as Chaos growled at her, her body lowering to the ground as the Head Warrior turned and returned to her den, growling all the way. The small female trembled slightly as Blitz rose, removing her protection. Her eyes widened in panic as Blitz left her alone with Pravin, making his way to the storage den. Sure, it wasn't far, but if the lone male did decide to harm her, there was nothing she could do to protect herself. She remained crouched low to the ground, her ears pinned back and her tail curled between her legs as the male towered over her.

Pravin gave a small, quiet growl as Chaos left the scene towards her den. He felt that these little fights would break out often with Chaos, if not with him, then with the others. If it had been needed, he would have defended himself physically; she seemed like the type of wolf who would attack on the wrong word. He saw Blitz get up and walk a short distance to what seemed like the storage den. He then glanced at Tessa, crouched low, probably scared out of her mind. They all seemed to be scared or at least intimidated by him. That was the only reason he could dig up for why they were all reacting the way they were. He dropped the growl, and he dropped the suspicious face and looked at the little wolf beside him. He sat back, then slid down to lay on the dirt. He looked right at the crouching wolf, softly he asked, "Am I really that intimidating?" As if he didn't already know the answer.

Tessa watched the male lay down, relaxing slightly as he grew calm and spoke softly. Her ears remained flat as she watched him, confused by his question. Why was he asking her? Didn't he already know? She looked up at him, trying to find her voice as he waited for her answer. She did her best to keep it steady, but she was still a bit shaky. "Yes, you are." She said softly, blinking up at him nervously. "I'm not a pack member either. The beta, Inferno, saved me from drowning in the river." She said, her voice a bit stronger this time, but still soft and nervous.

"I met Inferno. He's the beta, is he? Hm. He growled at me too." Pravin said shortly, as he processed where he was now. He was speaking to a little scared wolf, who was also not a pack member. Chaos was probably not intimidated by her, therefore probably didn't give her such a hard time. Then again, she also almost drowned in the river rapids. He figured Chaos was just always like that, no matter what. He'd learn one way or another. He thought that he should leave the scared wolf be, and follow Blitz, as par his probation. He grunted, and moved himself back on his feet. He gave a small nod to Tessa and turned to find where Blitz had gone to. The storage den.

Tessa watched him silently, her ears pricking slightly as he stood and followed Blitz to the storage den, leaving her all alone. She sat up, tilting her head to the side as she watched him, wondering what she had done to make him leave. But she didn't dwell on it long, because Chaos appeared again, making her get up and run after the two males, knowing that Blitz would keep her safe from the angry Head Warrior. She stood outside the storage den, not knowing if she was welcome inside because she was not a pack member. But at least she was far away from Chaos.

Blitz turned as Pravin approached, snarling in warning as the male neared the storage den. This den was for pack members only. He spotted Tessa outside as well, so he grabbed two hares, tossing them out to the pair and then grabbed a leg from one of the deer they had brought down a few days ago. He dragged it outside, laying down a few feet from Tessa and Praving and began to eat slowly.

Pravin stopped in front of the storage den just as Blitz turned to warn him. He nodded, and saw that Tessa had come with him. He glanced at the flying hare and caught it just before it hit the ground. Instinct catch. He looked questionably at Blitz before taking the hare in the opposite direction of Blitz and dropping down with a flop. He sniffed the stored hare and took a careful bite. It was a decent hare, and so he continued to take bigger bites as he looked around the den site. It was simple. He liked it, but briefly wondered where he would be staying.

PostSubject: Re: Meeting the Pack (Roar)   Meeting the Pack (Roar) EmptyTue Jan 24, 2012 6:16 pm

Blitz tossed Tessa a hare as well, and then took a chunk of the quickly disappearing deer and headed out of the den. He moved to his own den, laying down and eating it in front of the entrance, taking his time as he kept an eye on Pravin, as well as Tessa. Sure, the little female was skiddish as hell, but she wasn't any more of a pack member than Pravin, so she had to be watched as well. He enjoyed his meal greatly, and when he finished, he licked his lips and paws clean before laying back and enjoying the sun as it soaked his fur between the leaves and branches of the trees above.

Tessa, unlike Pravin, didn't see the projectile flying in her direction. The hare that Blitz tossed hit her in the face, making her yelp in surprise and then flatten her ears in embarassment. She too took her rabbit and began to eat, although her bites were much less hesitant than the male's. She was starving, and she devoured the little thing quickly. When she finished, she looked over at Blitz curiously, knowing that he was watching both her and Pravin. She was no longer at death's door, so she figured that she would no longer share the alpha's den, but have to stay elsewhere or leave the packlands. She wondered what would happen to her, as well as the new male that laid several feet from her.

Meeting the Pack (Roar) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Meeting the Pack (Roar)   Meeting the Pack (Roar) EmptyTue Jan 24, 2012 6:49 pm

Pravin ate and amused himself watching the little wolf devour her food. But he kept quiet at the distance he was at, and finished his hare, licking any leftover off the bones. He let the bones clatter in a pile next to his paws, and examined the area, as he hadn't had much time to take it all in before his encounter with Chaos. Beside him was the storage den, and he assumed Blitz had gone to the Alpha's den. There were other dens scattered in the general area that he was sure held other pack members, and he wasn't sure if he wanted to meet the others. Pravin glanced back at Blitz watching both him and Tessa, and wondered what they would be doing, if anything at all.

Boring himself with the view, he picked up the biggest bone in the pile and placed it between his paws, chewing it endlessly until anything, anything at all, arose from the silence. His teeth against the bone created a slight noise. He briefly pondered talking to Tessa, but she still looked too shaken up to even speak to.

Meeting the Pack (Roar) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Meeting the Pack (Roar)   Meeting the Pack (Roar) EmptyTue Jan 24, 2012 7:00 pm

After a while, Blitz got to his feet and walked over to stand so that he was close enough to both loners to speak, but far enough back so he could still see them both in front of him. "It's getting late, and in order to keep an eye on you two, you'll both be sharing the den across from my own. Over there." He said, motioning to the least appealing, yet seemingly comfortable den near the alpha's den. This was just so that Blitz could keep tabs on them without having to share his own den with two lone wolves. "I'm going to bed, and I would suggest you to do so as well. Inferno will be back later on, and I'm sure he'll check up on you if I don't do so myself later." He said, turning and heading back to his own den and entering, laying down in the middle where he could see the den across from his if he wished. But right now, his eyes were closed as he let himself relax.

Tessa looked up as Pravin chewed on the bone, and although it looked entertaining enough, she left her's in a pile and laid there studying their surroundings. She had always been a very observant wolf, moreso than most, and she took in every last detail of the den area. The shivering, snow-covered tree branches that shimmered in the fading sunlight, the soft, fluffy snow that surrounded their bodies, the cold, hard stone of the dens mixed with the frozen ground that had made it's way into the cracks to seal away the winter from the wolves inside....It was all so much to take in, and it seemed like no time had passed when Blitz's voice suddenly broke her concentration. She blinked up at him, glancing over at Pravin as she was informed they would be SHARING a den. But unlike Chaos, she didn't shoot him an angry look, nor did her ears pin back in dislike. Instead, she perked her ears up curiously, tilting her head to the side, her eyes studying his face, taking in his features and expressions, just as she had studied their environment moments before.

PostSubject: Re: Meeting the Pack (Roar)   Meeting the Pack (Roar) EmptyTue Jan 24, 2012 7:19 pm

After a while, Pravin let the bone down and placed his head just beyond his paws, a position in which he looked very relaxed. He had nothing to do, and was even considering the idea of sleep when Blitz came over. He lifted his head from his paws and nodded, understanding that he would be sharing a den with Tessa. The den looked decent enough, especially for a loner on probation. Pravin then looked up to the sky, and the alpha was correct, it was getting later and later, the sky growing dark. He looked at Tessa, several feet away and it looked like she accepted the fact as well.

Slowly, he pulled himself up to his paws, shaking the small clumps of old snow from his fur. It didn't help much, only revealing his matted and scarred pelt. He made his way forward after Blitz and inspected the den they had been given. It was okay and just big enough for the two of them, seeming like no one had slept there in a long time. He stationed himself to the edge of the entrance, just outside, and lay down. He looked with a blank face to Tessa, wondering if she would come as well.

Meeting the Pack (Roar) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Meeting the Pack (Roar)   Meeting the Pack (Roar) EmptyTue Jan 24, 2012 7:27 pm

After Blitz disappeared, Tessa watched Pravin rise and head over to the den to investigate. She, however, remained where she was for a few moments. She wasn't done studying the area. Her eyes roamed skillfully over the terrain, taking in every last darkening detail before they finally came to rest on Pravin's form once more. She then slowly rose, stretching lazily and looking altogether relaxed and quite the opposite as when Chaos had been there. It would be a strange change for him, since he seemed to believe her to be a skiddish, frightened female, but now that she had memorized every last stone in the area, she felt much more comfortable and safe. She yawned softly and blinked over at him, taking note that he was watching her curiously. Finally she walked over and paused a few feet from him and the entrance. "Are you thirsty?" She asked, wondering if he was interested in accompanying her to the nearby lake. She was sure that if the hole Blitz had created that morning had frozen back over, she would never be able to re-break it. Pravin could be quite helpful in that aspect, and it was also nice to at least offer to show him where the lake was. He was bound to get thirsty eventually.

It felt strange to be looking down at him, since when he stood he towered over her much smaller, almost fox-sized form. It made her feel a bit more powerful, although she knew that she stood no chance against him, should he decide he didn't like her. But she had been growing slowly more confident with the pack and with him, and she didn't back down this time. She had always been an interesting and confusing character, and no one had ever really figured her out, not even herself. But she never really bothered too much with self-reflection, and she didn't waste time with it now. Instead she waited patiently for his answer, licking her lips and letting her tail hang, relaxed, behind her.

Pravin took note that Tessa no longer seemed scared, but she could again and he knew that. Maybe she just need time to adjust, a lot more relaxed as she asked him if he was thirsty. He considered for a moment, then glanced at the seemingly sleeping alpha. "I'm supposed to stay with the Alpha and Beta while I'm here." He said shortly, almost explaining his probation. He made no effort to get up yet, as he was not sure if Blitz would let him go for just a drink. As he waited for the little wolf to speak, he remembered another thing, he didn't really know her name just yet. "Also, what may I call you?" He asked, trying to be polite with his deep, thick, voice.

Meeting the Pack (Roar) Empty

Tessa couldn't help but smile as he said he couldn't leave Blitz's or Inferno's sides. It was rather amusing, but she could see why they would have placed that restriction on him. "Don't even worry about it. The lake is really close. We could be back in just a few minutes." She said, looking over at Blitz's den. The alpha wasn't nearly as mean as he was pretending to be, and Tessa knew it. She hadn't been here long, but it was obvious that the entire pack adored him, even Chaos seemed to look up to him. "Oh, sorry, that's rude of me. I'm Tessa." She said, mentally kicking herself for forgetting her manners and leaving him without a name.

"So, what'll it be? I'm perfectly fine going on my own, but it would be nice to have some company. Plus, if the ice is frozen, I'll need a bigger wolf to break it." She said, laughing softly as she made fun of herself. She knew she'd never break the ice in a million years, so she might as well see if he'd help. If not, then she could eat some snow or something. She'd be fine either way, but she definitely prefered one over the other.

Pravin nodded, and rose up from the ground. She said the lake was close, what harm could be done in a few minutes? He figured it would be fine if it was for a drink, and motioned for Tessa to lead the way. "Pravin. In case you didn't catch it earlier when Chaos did...whatever she did." He quietly said, realizing that she might have not heard him introduce himself while she was hiding behind Blitz. Standing, he remembered how big he was, again towering over the little wolf named Tessa.

Tessa's sense of 'power' disappeared instantly when Pravin rose to his feet and towered over her. She didn't let it bother her, though, and when he motioned for her to lead the way, she turned and made her way to the lake without hesitation. They reached it within a few minutes, and she stopped, her ears pinning back as she took note of the freshly frozen surface. There was no way she was getting a drink from there. It was obvious it had been broken earlier by Blitz, but it was too thick for Tessa's small body to have any effect. She frowned, looking back at Pravin. "There's no way I can break that." She said, picturing herself jumping, then slipping, then falling on her face, and then sliding across the lake and getting stuck in the middle of the slippery ice. It was a rather amusing picture, and she couldn't help but laugh out loud as it ran through her head.

Pravin silently followed Tessa as she led the way to the frozen lake. She knew exactly where to go, as if this wasn't her second or third time. He stepped beside her as she announced that she wouldn't be able to break it, and then burst out laughing. Pravin threw her a confused look before stepping his front paws on the ice. He lifted his front side and dropped it down on the somewhat thin ice. The ice cracked, and he did a couple more times. On the last time, the ice cracked all the way and his legs and muzzle were dunked in the water.

Struggling in his awkward position, he pulled himself out of the water, grunting. He was somewhat disappointed that he had caused a fool of himself. As he shook the cold waters from his coat, he looked over the lake. It was frozen over and a layer of snow lay over. He glanced at Tessa before leaning down and drinking for himself first, then stepping back to make room for her.

Tessa did her best to quiet herself as he shot her a confused look as a result of her random laughter. She smiled, but watched him silently as he smashed the ice and fell into the water. But, as a result of holding back her earlier laughter, this set her off again, and she choked back a giggle as he scrambled out of the water. "You ok?" She asked, grinning as she moved forward to drink. "Don't worry, you didn't look nearly as rediculous as I did when I pictured myself slipping, falling, and then sliding across the ice if I had tried to break it." She said, explaining her earlier outburst. But then she lowered her head to drink, lapping carefully at the freezing cold water and shivering as it poured down her throat.

Pravin knew that Tessa had tried to stifle her laugh, nearly failing, but he appreciated that she was trying to hide it anyways. He would have yelled at himself more for the action. He nodded his head when asked if he was okay. And then he looked at Tessa funny when she had explained the picture in her head. Then quietly snorted as he imagined it for himself; her little form skidding on her stomach to the center of the lake. It was a funny image indeed, and he let out a little smile before turning in the direction of the dens and taking a step forward, indicating that he thought it was time to go back.

Tessa held onto her smile, glad to see a slight smile appear on his face before he turned back toward the dens. She sighed softly, stepping forward and falling into step beside him, although she had to nearly run to do so because he was so much larger than her. They were back at the dens in no time, and she blinked up at him, hoping that he would go straight to the den so she wouldn't have to explain that she couldn't see very well in the dark...ever since the rapids. She waited, blinking up at him and fighting back the urge to squint to try and see their surroundings in the dark.
