Long Lost, Recently Found (Acceptance) - Page 3 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Long Lost, Recently Found (Acceptance)   Long Lost, Recently Found (Acceptance) - Page 3 EmptyTue Feb 14, 2012 8:33 pm

Inferno's ears pricked up at the sound of someone moving around outside, but he didn't open his eyes or raise his head until Pravin spoke out. The beta looked up as Pravin recounted his success. "Thank you, Pravin," said the wolf, thinking over Tessa and Sibirskiy's reasoning for staying away. Inferno decided that he didn't think it was necessary, but there was no harm in it...perhaps it would be a good idea to run this by Blitz for him to consider for the rest of the pack.

Before sending the male away, Inferno tried to think of other things that needed to be done. A new patrol had to be set up and sent out soon - Pravin was definitely to be on it, as far as the beta was concerned. "Go get Coven...and Fallon," directed the wolf to Pravin, "We need to get back to patrolling." The more he thought about it, the more important a patrol became; with the pack weakened, they couldn't afford to be surprised by anything, whether impending natural disaster or living, breathing threats. He needed to at least talk to Coven and Pravin about what was going to have to happen, and Fallon was needed because neither of the males (and most other pack members) knew the land well enough to go alone, and Inferno figured Blitz had better things to do than waste time on that.

Inferno mentioned the names Coven and Fallon in association with a patrol. Except, Pravin didn't know who those names were referring to. He looked behind him, seeing Blitz and the other white wolf, along with the three huddled near the healer's den. He still hadn't met them; he guessed that would be now. "Which ones are Fallon and Coven?" He asked, just in case. It seems as if Inferno had fully accepted Pravin, and Pravin was glad for that. His ears flicked as he waited for the answer, even though he could guess that it was two of the three by the healer's den.

The auburn wolf couldn't help but grin and laugh at himself for forgetting that Pravin didn't know the others quite yet. Just an hour of being off his feet was enough to get Inferno's mind wandering...So far, at least it wasn't sickness that was doing it, but who knew how long that'd last?

"They're by the healer's den," he informed Pravin, "Fallon is the bigger female with a little more black on her back. Coven is the black one." Laek and Fallon were very similar, but Inferno was sure Pravin would figure it out. If there wasn't the need of extra runners for Blitz at the moment, the beta would have asked for Laek, too, but he trusted her to the responsibilities that might need to be taken on much more than he trusted Fallon. Running around the territory suited Fallon's free-spirit much more than hanging around the dens, and that meant that Fallon was more likely to be productive if she was out there. Laek was calmer and could be trusted to stay on task around here.

Pravin watched Inferno laugh and then reply. He looked near the healer's den, correct in his guess. He nodded and walked the short distance to the trio. The three were asleep, all leaning on each other in their slumber. He bent down and nudged the one in the middle: Fallon. That was the one Inferno had described under the name. He also nudged Coven, the black one to the side of Fallon. He hoped they would wake up for their new task.

While Pravin was attempting to wake up the pair, Laek slowly blinked her eyes open to see his huge form towering over there. She twitched with surprise, and removed herself from Fallon's shoulders. She looked at Pravin with a questioning look, and he just nodded, knowing that he'd explain when the other two awoke.

The female groaned and grumbled something unintelligible directed at the poking at her shoulder. After Laek had moved off, reacting to the unwelcome waking force, Fallon rolled over - eyes still shut - and buried her head into the black male's shoulder, stubbornly denying what she knew to be a wake-up call. There was no way she was getting up yet! Even though it had been at least a few hours since she'd fallen asleep, that was not nearly enough in her opinion.

Coven on the other hand reacted much more quickly, lifting his head curiously and blinking Pravin into focus. He hadn't ever really met Pravin, but it was obvious that there was a purpose in the other male's presence here. Stretching his paws out, the black wolf yawned and then grinned down at Fallon, amused by her pup-like antics. Looking back up at the other male curiously, he asked, pausing to yawn again, "Was there something you needed...?" Nope, no name popped into his head, even as he tried to recall one. Oh well. It didn't really matter so far.

"Pravin." He answered at the prolonged ending of the male's sentence, as they'd never properly met and that was as proper as Pravin would get at the time. He watched as the wolf named Fallon was resisting the need to wake up, grumbling words that no one understood, but he spoke anyway, hoping she was at least awake enough to hear him. "Inferno wants you two, Fallon and Coven. To go out on a patrol, I believe." There wasn't much to the order; they probably just had to run by Inferno first.

Laek looked sideways at the stubborn Fallon and the amused Coven. Why were they being called for the patrol and not her? Her ears leaned back in confused frustration, [/b]"Did Inferno call for Laek?"[/b] She inquired, speaking in the third person of herself, knowing that she also had not met the larger male in front of them. Pravin only shook his head, assuming that the one who looked very familiar to Fallon was named Laek. Alright, then she was staying at the dens, again. She shrugged it off and laid her head back on the ground.

Coven nodded at Pravin's explanation and stood up, pulling away from Fallon who lay huddled with her ears flattened against her skull, as if trying to block out Pravin's words. With a laugh, the male poked at her head with a large black paw. "Better get up, Grumbly," he laughed, though a hint of seriousness behind his grin. Fallon rumbled a low, annoyed growl but began to slowly stretch out and roll onto her stomach, inch by inch preparing to move. Meanwhile, Laek's dejected question brought Coven's attention to her. Even as she lay her head back down, the wolf suggested off-handedly, "Why don't you come along anyway, Laek. All of us might as well go and get caught up on what's going on here." By this time, the other female had finally risen to her feet and was already stalking groggily over to Chaos's den. The male stepped over to Laek and licked her ear invitingly, waiting for her before heading off after Fallon.

Laek looked up at Coven and smiled, glad for his offer. She rose up from the ground, "Yeah, I'll see if I can go!" She gave a thankful nudge to Coven before she followed Fallon. She hoped Inferno would let her go, almost sure he would. She kept the optimism in her mind. She had yet to go out yet, this might be her chance. She arrived in front of the den, and her eyes followed the stream up to it's start. Then she glanced in the den and saw really how bad it was. Chaos, Inferno, and Molly were huddled in the cave, together only in their sickness. They looked terrible.

Pravin walked with them to Chaos' den, standing just before the stream. They would know not the enter the isolation zone, right? He bent down slightly to throw his voice into the den, "Here they are. Laek is also here."

Long Lost, Recently Found (Acceptance) - Page 3 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Long Lost, Recently Found (Acceptance)   Long Lost, Recently Found (Acceptance) - Page 3 EmptyThu Feb 16, 2012 12:31 am

Inferno watched alertly as the group formed a semi-circle around the den, staying far enough away from the area of infection to hopefully be safe. He narrowed his eyes questioningly at Pravin as the male announced Laek as well, whom Inferno had decided was going to stay. Well, now he could give her a task to accomplish around the den site now instead of calling for her later.

"We need to send out a patrol," said the beta, getting right to the point. "Pravin and Coven, you'll both be taking patrols multiple times each day from here on out. Report to Blitz and consult with him about details when the time comes," instructed the wolf, knowing that with Chaos out of action and him perhaps about to fall similarly, Blitz would have to take on the responsibility for organizing the patrols until another wolf became experienced enough to temporarily take over the head warrior role and make the lesser decisions. "Fallon, neither Pravin nor Coven are familiar with the territory. I trust that they'll master the land quickly," he said with a meaningful stare at each of the males, "but you need to show them the borders and main aspects of the territory today. Alright?"

Fallon suddenly perked up at this news, and her tail wagged excitedly as a wide grin graced her face. "Great!" she yipped eagerly, pawing at the earth in anticipation. Coven stepped forward quickly to speak before the female bounded off.

The black wolf looked directly at Inferno, almost too hard as he tried to keep his eyes off of the sick figure of Molly. Chaos sick was just unfortunate for the bad, but he didn't actually mourn her illness and didn't care to try. For Molly, he didn't have to try, and just looking at her was enough to make his stomach clench in worry. He was going to deal with this the way he had dealt with every other anxiety, fear, and problem in his life - by getting busy with some other task. His current task was to follow Inferno's instructions (finally! even Molly's dire illness couldn't completely squelch the relief and eagerness Coven had to at last be free), but Laek's obvious hope to join the group moved the wolf to speak up for her, who had been quiet and ignored by Inferno for now.

"I think Laek should join us," he stated, lowering his ears slightly, trying to show that while he disagreed with Inferno's judgement, he was doing so as respectfully as possible. It was a miraculous feat for Coven. Continuing before Inferno could cut him off, the black wolf explained, "She's as unfamiliar with the territory as Pravin and I, and it could be detrimental for her not to get familiarized with the layout soon. Today will be quick, and then she and Fallon can both be back here to help out. Right now you still have Xerxses if you need anything, so it's not like you'll be completely without aid if you end up needing it..." Not that Coven expected there was much for anyone to do for the sick wolves now or anytime soon but wait.

Though Inferno lay silent for a while, studying Coven and Laek and pondering the proposal for a moment, he finally agreed, after which Fallon immediately bounded off, heading south toward the rapid to begin with. Coven followed after, nodding once to Laek and sizing up Pravin for a second before taking off.

((Inferno/Chaos/Molly continued - time-lapsed to next morning: https://incendio.rpg-board.net/t83-consciousness ))

Pravin didn't change his expression when Inferno had given him the task of patrols. But it was a permanent task, did this mean Pravin was part of the pack? Or was he simply just going to follow directions? But the Beta wouldn't trust a non-member to patrol the lands, now would he? Pravin only nodded, glancing at Coven, his new partner. Coven was a large wolf, a warrior perhaps. Pravin, himself, thought that Inferno had just named him warrior as well, based on their task. Fallon was to guide them, and she seemed all too happy to be able to do that, darting away as Inferno agreed to letting Laek come along as well.

Laek was relieved when Coven spoke for her, successfully persuading the Beta to let her go with the others. Finally, a time to explore! She was happy about that, but managed it better than Fallon had. She bounded happily after Coven and Fallon, following their trails to the rapids. Pravin looked at Inferno, gave a respectful nod, and left after the other wolves. He managed a jog to catch up to them, soon just behind them.

PostSubject: Re: Long Lost, Recently Found (Acceptance)   Long Lost, Recently Found (Acceptance) - Page 3 EmptyFri Feb 17, 2012 8:58 pm

As they moved off, Fallon spouted off details about the areas they were passing through. She merely pointed out the lake, figuring that everyone else would find their way around just fine. And the lake was boring to her right now anyway.

The female slowed down and just jogged down the bank of the rapids, following it to the edge of the forest. There wasn't much to explain anymore, just look and get a feel for the land, so she came up beside Pravin and started talking, not having really met him before. "So," she said with a smile as the wolves padded on, "seems like you're officially part of the pack! And a warrior, too...it's kind of weird that Inferno just assigned you a position. I got to choose." Fallon could think of plenty of reasons the pack needed more warriors, though, so she understood why the beta might have done it that way. It was winter now, and things would be getting pretty heated around here, so outside threats would be extremely unwelcome. And Pravin with his huge build looked right for a warrior, anyway. "What do you think about all this?" she asked, tilting her head a bit and wagging her tail encouragingly. The male seemed kind of quiet, but she was resolved to get him talking.

Meanwhile, Coven kept pace with Laek as they trailed behind Fallon. He wasn't really interested in what either she or Pravin had to say; the rapids were much more intriguing. The black wolf looked across the river at the shrubs and hills on the other side. Though he'd made it to Silverlight by crossing the rapids, it hadn't explored this uphill portion, so it was all new. Even though the trees where Coven had first met Chaos were quite a bit further down the river, the water evoked enough memories of the experience to make him frown a bit. Chaos's infected injuries were the ones he'd inflicted that day, and that knowledge was preening guilt.

Pravin followed Fallon as she listed the area, noting that she didn't say much that was important. That was okay to him, though. He examined everything and made a mental map in his head. He was quick to remember, and he'd already been to the lake a number of times. Thanks to Tessa, of course. And there were the Rapids, roaring it's way through the terrain, as if it were previously only a river trying to carve it's place. His ears perked up as Fallon matched step with him and spoke. Turns out she agreed that Inferno had chosen him as warrior, a part of the pack. But she got to choose her role, did she? You talk a lot, you know that? He spoke in his head, but said aloud, "I'm just glad to have a place to stay the winter. And if I'm welcomed, I'm welcomed." He knew not of what else to think. That was his only goal here, anyway. To find a home to survive the coldness that winter liked to slap in the face of wolves.

Laek watched as Fallon attempted to make conversation with Pravin. She couldn't hear what he was saying, as he spoke only so Fallon could hear him. Laek then glanced beside her and saw Coven interested in the Rapids. But he also looked pained, as if some bad memory were associated with this place. She leaned over and nudged him semi-playfully. "What's up?" She asked in her way of asking what was wrong.

Long Lost, Recently Found (Acceptance) - Page 3 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Long Lost, Recently Found (Acceptance)   Long Lost, Recently Found (Acceptance) - Page 3 EmptySat Feb 18, 2012 4:15 am

Pravin's answer kept Fallon quiet for a minute as she processed what he said and the way that he said it. She knew he was a little distant (and perhaps it was more personality than unfamiliarity), but what she was interpreting from his comment was too cold for her not to question. "Do you intend to stay past the winter?" she asked, her voice pitching a little higher with her doubts. "You're here for a den, not the company of a pack?" That's what she'd gotten from his flat and cooly calculated response. There had to be something she'd misinterpreted, right?

Coven whipped his head to look at Laek, ears pricked in surprise at her nudge. The hint of light-heartedness behind it softened the wolf's oppressed expression. Shrugging, trying to neutralize the abnormal behavior, the wolf shot a look back at the rapids and then to Laek, answering as offhandedly as possible, "I was just remembering how I ended up here. I came through the rapids, and then I guess you kind of know the rest. It just got me thinking about what's been going on..." He flipped back an ear and gave the female a small, crooked smile, grateful to her for even asking. Though the wolf was starting to realize that that amiable concern was just part of the nature of the wolves in Silverlight, it still caught him by surprise sometimes. It was definitely softening him up, too.

Ready to distract himself from the previous topic - he hated this feeling of worry - Coven took Laek's playful energy and nudged her back. "Looks like Fallon's not an instant favorite with this guy," observed the wolf in a low voice, only for Laek's ears, as Fallon's befuddled voice ahead rose. "Any bets on how it's going to end?" he asked with a chuckle. Fallon's reaction to her stoic companion was hilarious, but the whole situation said a lot about the new male. Coven wasn't sure Fallon would gain a new best friend today, based on the aloofness of the male, but he could be underestimating both Fallon and Pravin in that guess.

The silver wolf wandered around the encampment, looking around and getting a good feel for the area. However he stayed away from anything or place that might get him into trouble, something he was quite getting into. After a good while of checking the den area out, KiRae began walking back to where Fallon had first brought him, Hoping that he would meet back up with her. He flicked his tail slightly, watching as other wolves worked their way through the camp, ears flat. He felt like such an outsider; And he was, atleast untill he met the alpha and brought into the pack.

Laek could only guess that Coven had gotten his scars from the Rapids, or rather the fight that occurred shortly after. But Laek hadn't heard the whole story yet, nor was she going to ask about it. She gave a quiet laugh as Coven pointed out the conversation ahead. Fallon's voice had gone high enough for them to hear it and it sounded surprised. Laek wondered what they could be talking about, but she didn't know how Pravin perceived Fallon. Or how Pravin perceived anyone, for that fact. He seemed like a quiet wolf, preferring to be alone than with someone as upbeat as Fallon. Laek shrugged, "It could go either way. Either he satisfies her with a good response, or she walks away disappointed. You know how she is, always wanting to befriend the pack." There were many outcomes, she knew, "Minus Chaos." She added, giving a light laugh at the actions of Chaos before the sickness fell upon her.

Pravin's ears perked up, then fell back at the pitch of Fallon's voice. That could have been what he meant; it was his first goal anyway. "If I hadn't been accepted, I would have only stayed the winter, and that would have satisfied me." He said at first, debating his next words, "Companionship is old to me. Previous packs were either too cruel to care about friendship or welcomed the trait dearly, as I'm sure you do. But to those packs fell disaster by nature's wonders. And I do not wish that fate upon your pack here in Silverlight, but it seems as if I've only brought bad luck." He said, pointing all arrows at the sickness currently bonding with Chaos, Molly, and soon Inferno, as if it were his fault that their luck faltered. "If all does not fall apart, I'll stay. A pack is better than none." Pravin sounded too poetic for his own good, as he waited for Fallon's response.

Long Lost, Recently Found (Acceptance) - Page 3 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Long Lost, Recently Found (Acceptance)   Long Lost, Recently Found (Acceptance) - Page 3 EmptySat Feb 18, 2012 3:18 pm

Fallon silently stared at Pravin for a moment as the wolves continued on their speed-tour, though she wasn't commenting on the land anymore. There were more important things to worry about, like this crazy wolf Pravin! What in the world did he mean by everything he was saying? In the beginning, his words evoked sympathy from Fallon and offered up some sort of explanation for his behavior. By the end, she was left feeling almost as unsatisfied as before, but much more confused. As the group followed the Rapids into the entrance of the Eastern forest, Fallon finally spoke. "You didn't bring bad luck. And having friends in a pack is better than being alone in a pack. But you don't sound like you care." The female was incredulous, almost distressed as well, and starting to get snappy.

"I think we're gonna have to scratch 'walks away disappointed'," noted the black wolf with a surprised laugh at seeing where the conversation between Fallon and Pravin was going. "I'm replacing it with 'yells at Pravin until he decides to befriend her'." Coven shook his head with an entertained smile. He was pretty sure this outburst of Fallon's was more than just her usual feistiness; it probably had more to with the female's estrus cycle than Pravin's answers. Fallon under normal conditions would have been much more forgiving and slightly more patient, but at least this new season of aggressiveness would hold some hilarity amid all the tention, if Fallon kept reacting like this.

Pretty sure Fallon had lost the battle, the male turned his attention to the landscape again, which was the purpose of their trip. Since Fallon wasn't much of a tour-guide at the moment, Coven started looking for landmarks and scents so he could orient himself in the future. The border of the territory was marked well by Blitz and Inferno, so there was no mistaking it. But there was more to exploring than just staying by the border. "Are you any good with directions, Laek?" asked the male, looking at her. He was decent enough, but if she was pretty good, too - hopefully as a hunter she was - he was up for going exploring on their own. Following the border was easy; being inside the rest of the territory without the river or edge of trees as a guideline would be much more challenging, and more useful to learn.

Laek laughed along with Coven as he pointed out more. Obviously Pravin wasn't giving her sufficient answers, as they could both tell from her reactions. Although the reactions were hilarious. Laek could tell that Pravin wasn't the kind of wolf who strived to satisfy the others, he spoke for himself and did not seem to care for reaction. As opposed to Fallon, who wanted nothing else but friends everywhere. Laek shook her head of it, and looked around at the forests they were walking to. She'd been here before. She'd gotten lost here, in fact. But old trails let her know her place. She made sure to keep attention to the trees and the scent, as she was sure to lose herself again when the snow melted.

She looked at Coven as he asked her about her sense of direction. "Fairly." She answered, almost knowing where Coven was going with this. Fallon wasn't guiding them anymore, it seemed. When she was sure Fallon wasn't paying attention to them, Laek nudged Coven and motioned into the forest, away from the border they were following. She wanted to get the exploring time she needed, and Coven coming along was great.

Pravin continued to walk forward even as he heard the rustle behind him of Laek leaving the pair. They had entered the forests that Pravin had arrived in, and Fallon finally spoke after a silence. "Maybe I try hard not to care." He said shortly, debating if he should explain why. But he felt as if that would frustrate both him and Fallon. He knew that if he tried to retell the story, he would only confuse her more. His history reminded him that having companions, and caring only led to disaster when it came to losing them. Pravin was pessimistic when it came to his future with this pack. Or maybe he was just afraid.

Long Lost, Recently Found (Acceptance) - Page 3 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Long Lost, Recently Found (Acceptance)   Long Lost, Recently Found (Acceptance) - Page 3 EmptySat Feb 18, 2012 6:33 pm

Coven's grin widened once Laek's nudge informed him that she had not only anticipated his idea, but that she was completely on board. He let the female lead for a while, since it seemed that she had a fair amount of familiarity with this place. This exact location, when the rapids met the forest, had been where Coven had entered Silverlight and been so warmly received by Chaos, but because of the consequences of that meeting, the male hadn't really paid attention to the scenery. There had been more pressing issues to focus on.

Once the two were out of sight and sound of Pravin and Fallon, Coven broke from his position behind Laek and moved up next to her as they wandered. "So, have you explored around here before?" He gave her an expectant look, as if he was pretty sure there was a story here, despite the question. There was just no way Laek had randomly happened upon these trails, and that transcended more than just a good sense of direction.

Fallon's ears were pressed back against her skull, her expression candidly expressing her outrage at Pravin's comment. She was so wrapped up this now that she didn't even realize the two other wolves had left. "How can you not care?" she exclaimed in a mixture of shriek and snarl. The female was almost not starting to think about herself anymore; an attitude like this had to affect loyalty, the pack. While Fallon before had been simply curious and (not a little) offended that this new member didn't immediately adore her like everyone else, now she was getting protective of her friends. Pravin was starting to sound a lot like Chaos, whose mere presence could make Fallon see red, and if that was true, he was in such trouble (or she was in trouble). This couldn't be ignored.

With a zealous leap, the female suddenly bounded in front of the male and spun to face him, glaring up at him stalwartly with her feet planted like roots in his path. "You'd better get over that right now!" she barked, "We are a pack, and you'd better care, or you're just as good as a loner, and you can't do that to us, because we already have one psycho, apathetic wolf in this pack, and I'll rip you apart if you end up just like her!" After a quick pause to finally take a breath, Fallon demanded, her eyes narrowed, "How could you rather live so depressed and alone than live loved? Why would you do that to yourself?"

Laek led Coven in the silence for a while, until he came up next to her. Her tail was wagging softly as he questioned her. She nodded, "Yeah, it was the day I was accepted, I think. Blitz sent me to find bedding and moss, so I came out by the border. I got lost in the storm and had to stay in a cave for the night. Luckily, both Blitz and Inferno found me the next morning." Laek was careful not to mention Casanova, as she was sure it would cause trouble. She believed Inferno was probably still looking for him, and she secretly hoped he would appear to them.

Pravin immediately started a small growl as his path was obstructed. Fallon confronted him and he wasn't sure if he liked it or not. She wasn't getting what he was saying, or maybe he wasn't telling the whole story. And how dare she compare him to Chaos! He would never become the scolding, belittling wolf that Chaos was. "It's hardwired into my brain, it's how I grew up! Change is not so easy to come, I'm not one to get attached!" His growl began to heighten as his frustration with Fallon grew, "I will protect this pack as warrior code implies, and I will do what I'm told! I will give respect where it's due, but my being refuses to give anything else." Memories and pictures popped into his head: the pack that made him the warrior he is, and the storm that killed his own emotions, everything that led up to this moment. "And why, you ask!? Why don't you ask nature and the cruel minds of my birth pack! Let live your life and don't worry about mine!" He turned and began to walk the other way, noticing both Coven and Laek gone. He walked away from Fallon, ears back and still emitting his growl in frustration.

The wolf nodded as he listened, chuckling good-humoredly as Laek explained how she'd gotten lost. When she had finished her story, Coven mused, "I remember that storm, but I didn't even know you were ever lost! Strange how that could have happened in such a small pack." He really had been out of the pack circle ever since he'd come here. The punishment for picking fights, apparently. Wagging his tail and pricking his ears curiously, he continued, "Well, since I finally get to talk to you, tell me something interesting about yourself." Smiling apologetically for giving the female such a broad question, Coven waited for her answer as they swung off the trail onto a less established, though still extant, trail forking to the right. This was supposed to be a challenge, right?

Fallon growled back at Pravin's own frustrated growl, but she managed to keep her mouth shut while he made his powerful rebuttal. Her tail twitched and with widening, though fiery, eyes, the female backed up a step as the male shouted his final words before walking off.

Fallon stood fuming for a few seconds, considering letting Pravin leave, but that was too much for her zealous, crusading spirit to handle at the moment. So after taking in a sharp breath, she started following Pravin, continuing to censure his attitude as she stalked behind him, "I am living my life, you moose, and it involves the pack, which you decided to be a part of! Don't compare us to your old 'pack'; there's more to living here than just following orders! A real pack is a relationship, not a heartless collection of bodies, but you're not even going to try?!"

Laek laughed, "I don't think I knew you existed that day!" In such a small pack, it was surprising they hadn't met yet. Laek followed Coven's lead as he went off the trail to the different one, and she reminded herself to remember where they were. "Something interesting about myself? Well, I actually come from a pack just south of the mountains and the rapids. Not far from here really!" She smiled, wagging her tail as she explored the trees and bush. "What about you? What's interesting about you?" She asked, throwing the broad question right back at her friend.

Pravin scoffed when Fallon called him a moose, but spun on the spot at the next part of her sentence. "Actually, I didn't choose to be part of this pack. Your beta did! It was part of the deal, of the probation." He growled at her, not wanting to continue this argument, but his instincts told him to fight back. "At least I'm here! At least I will listen to orders. And what do you define trying, if you're so bent on making me!" He glared at her, waiting for the snappy response he knew she had.

The black wolf laughed with Laek as she commented on not even knowing about him. It was nice to know that he wasn't the only one unable to keep track of the few members of the pack. At least they were fixing it now. He pawed at a strangely bent tree, the trunk swooping up and down into almost a triangle, and impressed it in his memory. It was a good landmark, even if kind of hidden among the other trees.

He looked up curiously as Laek explained where she came from. As with everyone else, there had to be a story behind that, but the wolf had learned that some were sensitive to the topic, and just in case Laek felt that way, he wasn't going to ask for more yet. Laek didn't give him a chance anyway, shooting his question right back. "You couldn't beat me and think up something more creative?" he asked teasingly, coming up beside her and nipping at her shoulder before trotting off and circling a big boulder as he thought of an answer. Finally, he replied, "I haven't been a permanent member of a pack since I was pretty much a pup." The black wolf grinned impishly, almost pup-like in his behavior right now, as he gave her about as much detail as she'd given him, which wasn't much at all.

Unfortunately, Fallon wasn't in the mood to back down either. Pravin did have a point about how he'd actually joined the pack, so she decided to skip it and pretend she didn't hear, instead addressing his next point, which was a personal bite at her. The female stopped where she was and snapped at him petulantly, "There's nothing wrong with me trying to make you try!" Stomping a back foot on the ground and waving her tail angrily, she called to him, "And if you're serious about obeying orders, then you'd better get back here right now!" Technically, Pravin was supposed to follow Fallon, and now she was going to be milking that for all it was worth.

"Hah! Who needs creativity?" Laek laughed as she climbed up onto a fallen trunk, marking every of the landmarks to memory. But this was only a fourth of the lands, and they had already covered the lake. Laek knew the mountains were to the west, but what was the north? They'd get there eventually though, and she continued with another question, "Are you a warrior? I haven't exactly seen you outside the pack areas." This one was out of pure curiosity, because she knew he was indeed a part of the pack. She just didn't know what rank. Laek looked down from her perch above, a silly smile on her face as they explored and played at the same time.

Pravin had begun to walk away from the furious Fallon, when she called him back to her. In any other case, he might not have turned around. But now, he stopped and spun, soon returning face-to-face with the hunter. "Yeah? What other orders will you give!" He scoffed, "And I never said it was wrong to try, just what do I have to do to try eh?" He ended quietly. There was still frustration in his voice, and in hers too. He looked down at the female, eyes narrowed at the call and at the argument.

Coven looked up at Laek on the tree, and circled the trunk as he answered, "Yeah, but I haven't been outside of the dens really since I got here. I ended up as a temporary healer for a while, which meant I had to stick around there." He wasn't sure if anyone really knew about that, since news didn't seem to travel through the pack well. The wolf launched himself up onto the tree alongside Laek, grinning as he got to survey the area from that spot. "I'm glad to finally get out, though. That was way too long in one place for me." On that note, Coven nipped at the female's ear and jumped off the tree, bowing down and wagging his tail as he looked up at her, daring her to come and catch him before he sprang up and ran off. There were other parts of this forest to explore.

"You just can't leave," she told him, frowning and fuming, but no longer yelling. His fuel had died out a little, and it was causing her to simmer down a little, too. Or perhaps she'd just exhausted herself. "I don't know," she answered him, "but if you cared, you would figure out how to try on your own." Then she turned around and started walking. She was at least going to finish off this trip, but it was going to be even shorter than even Inferno had planned.

Wagging her tail happily, Laek ran down the length of the tree and sprung off her hind legs. She landed with a thump in a snow pile and dashed over to Coven, gladly accepting his invitation to play. Running a circle around him, she said, "Much too long! I hadn't left either. We're more similar that we thought!" It really was interesting to see how their stories mirrored each other's, they'd arrived only as the injured. But yet, even as they were given a rank, they were holed up in the dens, waiting for their chance to let off the energy that was awaiting inside. Laek dashed off in the direction of the meadows that she didn't know was there. "C'mon you!" she called back.

Pravin gave a short low growl as Fallon turned away. Their fight was done and over with, and he was glad it didn't end in more than that. That would have troubled every one, and he could have been kicked out. He was the newer wolf here. He flicked his ears in slight annoyance as he trailed loosely behind the hunter. He would return to the dens with Fallon, and then have nothing to do with her. But he wouldn't let frustration get in the way of learning the land, and so he tried to rid his mind of their argument, looking around them. They were by the forests that he'd entered in, and he figured it would be worth learning this area.
