PostSubject: Chase though the forest (Buck)   Mon Mar 12, 2012 12:42 am

An irritated mumble came from Apollo as he chased after Aries, being lead on another one of her "games". It seemed this happened a lot, and he always found himself chasing after her, but, what was a brother to do? Wasn't like she would stop, she seemed to enjoy acting puppishly way more then him, no, all he could do was chase, and hopefully be able to make her calm down a little... doubtful as that was.
"Come on Aries!! You're gonna get us lost again!"
He barked, still running after her. Sure, to her this was just a fun chase, but to him, it was getting themselves lost somewhere. He wasn't paranoid, he was just careful, and besides, they were from an enclosure, if something were to happen, how would they know what to do?! They didn't know much at all about being out here. He stopped after a moment, panting, catching his breath for a moment. As mean as it sounded, he hoped she would at least trip so he could catch up a bit easier, and she usually did, but, she hadn't yet.

Aries laughed and sprang after a squirrel that ran off in front of of her as her brother chased her, completely ignoring his words. She growled playfully and ran after the small animal, leaping and bounding and laughing as she moved further into unknown territory. But she didn't pay enough attention to where she was stepping, and sure enough, she tripped over a root, falling flat on her face with a loud thud and a muffled yelp. Nothing was injured, but she laid there for a moment, surprised and confused as the squirrel ran up and chattered angrily at her from a low branch. The female wolf groaned softly, spitting out some leaves that were in her mouth because of the fall, her ears flat to her head and her eyes narrow as she growled up at the squirrel.

He sorta sighed in relief as he saw her trip and fall, but still worried that she might have hurt herself. He ran up quickly to her, sitting down next to her, a not-so-amused look across his face.
"Haven't we went over this? We can't just run off like that, we don't even know where we are?!"
He stated in a slightly irritated tone, looking up at the squirrel. He shook his head, sighing, a glimpse of a smile forming.
"Come on Aries... are you O.K.? You really need to watch where you step more."
He said, nudging her slightly. Sure, he was irritated, but, he really couldn't stay mad at her... as much as he was. He was more relived then bothered by the fact that she was still able to retain her puppish side... it was better she was that way, and that she wasn't bothered by everything. Apollo simply was losing that playful behavior, and he knew it, but he had to be like that, to keep them safe and protected. He glanced around, grinning, his large ears perked high. He hadn't the slightest idea where they ended up, but, it was no use staying here, and he didn't smell nor hear anything else.

When her brother nudged her, Aries righted herself and stood slowly. Then she sat down, looking up at her slightly frustrated brother with an innocent smile. "I wasn't watching where we were going. I was chasing the butterfly. That's your job." She said, back up on her feet again and shaking her body to free herself from a few loose leaves that had attached themselves to her fur. Then she looked back at Apollo, wagging her tail slightly as she sniffed the air. "What's that smell?" She asked, picking up the scent of several wolves with a similar scent, the pack. She looked around, seeing nothing but trees and bushes. But soon she looked back at Apollo, not even realizing the potential danger she had put them in by wandering this far into the pack's territory.

(murr.. sorry for the delay T.T')

He grinned, letting out an irritated huff. Yah, sure, his job, like he even knew where they were now... He just stared at his sister, still a bit annoyed, but his ears perking as she mentioned a smell. His nose quickly sniffed at the air, trying to find the scent she spoke of, and sure enough he did. Wolves, most likely a pack by how many different scents. Wonderful, that's the last thing they needed, to get harassed by a pack.
"See Aries? I told you running off could get us in touble, and now were in some packs territory... you know, they could very well decide to just kill us if they wanted, right?"
He growled, not meaning to sound so mean, but, the situation was a bit... much. He looked around, ears still erect as he watched and listened. There was no signs of anyone around right now, which was good.
"Come on, I think we can find our way out of here, hopefully before we are found."
He said, sighing a bit, waiting for her to agree. He didn't need her running off again, and, hopefully she didn't, he didn't know what these other wolves would do... not at all.

Aries frowned as her brother immediately grew tense and bossy again. Well, not that he had ever stopped. Yeah, she figured they were in a pack's territory. But from the looks and scents of the border, they weren't viscious, or at least not super territorial. But then again, Apollo knew much more than she did, so she slowly sighed and turned to follow him. "Fine, but I wish we could finally meet a pack that wants us there. I wish I had someone to play with. You're boring." She growled in frustration, walking past him in a huff and towards what she assumed was the borders. She really had no idea where she was going...once again.

He sighed as she talked, grinning as he looked around again. She was right, it would be nice to finally be around other's, but, they were in no shape to be in a pack, they knew nothing of living out here, how they survived seemed still a mystery to Apollo, and it seemed staying alone worked for them. Though... how long could they continue doing this alone?
"Look sis, think, what could we do in a pack even if they did let us join? Were small, and we come from a human enclosure with no knowledge of how living out in the wild works.... No pack would want a couple of useless wolves like us anyhow..."
He said, sighing as he sat down for a moment. He couldn't see any pack wanting them, they had no usable skills, so, they would just be dead weight for the most part.

Aries frowned as her brother shot down her desire to join the pack. She was tired of being alone with just him. Sure, they didn't have any skills right now, but they could learn, couldn't they? She sighed softly, pouting a bit as she stared over at her brother. "It wouldn't hurt to ask...." She muttered, glancing back deeper into the packlands, silently wishing that the pack would just appear now and take the decision away from her brother. She knew that she could learn to hunt, it would just take a lot of practice. She turned back to him eventually, tilting her head to the side slightly. "...pleeeeeease, Apollo." She begged, her big, round eyes begging him to at least try and talk to this pack whose territory they had already entered.

Apollo grinned as Aries pleaded, mumbling to himself. She wasn't going to stop, not at all, and she probably never would. He looked at her, sighing as he finally just gave up on arguing with her,
"Fine, well just ask and see, but if anything seems to be going wrong, or they say no, you gotta promise to stop pouting about it, alright?"
He said, grinning as he stared at her. He still really doubted any good would come from this, but, he didn't want, nor could he stand having to hear her pouting... her knew she wanted to be around other's, more so than him, so just going to ask and talk to the pack for her would be fine. He stood, stretching out before glancing back at her,
"Come on then, we gotta go and find them first."

Aries's eyes lit up as her brother caved and agreed. She grinned, wagging her tail and getting to her feet quickly as he said they needed to find the pack. That shouldn't be too hard. They had to have wolves patrolling all over. She continued to smile, now prancing in circles around her brother as they walked further into the packlands. Sure, it was dangerous, but she was excited to be around others again. The last time they had seen other wolves was back at the zoo, and they had been lazy and boring. She wanted excitement, she wanted fun! She couldn't help but nip playfully at Apollo's tail every once in a while, making sure never to actually grab it. That would get him mad at her for sure. But she was just too excited to walk calmly like her brother.

Her excitement was sorta expected, but, Apollo sorta wished she would stay calm, at least until they meet the wolves. He didn't want it to seem they were completely immature, then again he was still at odds with the entire thought of meeting them, so he worried about every little detail of it. What if they weren't so nice, and actually attacked them, figured they would be food? He knew it was stupid to think, wolves weren't cannibals... at least, the majority of them weren't. Her nipping and playing though as they walked did get... obnoxious, but he just let her, not wanting to deal with having her all mopey about him getting mad again. He just wondered where there was any wolves, sure, there should be some patrolling, but, he didn't know where they would be.

Aries smiled as he put up with her obnoxious playfulness, knowing that it annoyed the hell out of him. Soon they were deep into the packlands, and the scents were even stronger, overwhelming her and making her wander off several feet from Apollo to investigate different trails and spots. Suddenly she stopped, surprised at how fresh the latest trail was. It was almost as if the wolf had just been there. Although she was naive and playful, she wasn't an idiot, and she dashed back to her brother's side just as a large white form came into view several yards ahead.

Blitz had just begun his morning patrol, and he was surprised to find a pair of lone wolves so close to the den area. How long had they been in the territory? But that wasn't the only question he had. They looked different. Different from any other wolf he had ever seen. But it was obvious they were wolves, just...different wolves. He tilted his head slightly, his large form towering over theirs as the female dashed back to the male's side. They seemed more nervous and confused than dangerous, so he approached slowly, sitting down calmly. "Who are you and what are you doing in my packlands?" He asked, his voice deep and authoritative, but trying to be the least bit frightening as possible.

It didn't seem to take much longer before they started to get deeper into the territory, the smell of other wolves becoming much, much stronger. Though, one smell was more obvious than other's, a scent that seemed more recent, in fact almost completely fresh. There was no doubt there was another wolf around, so it wasn't that surprising when the large, white wolf came into view, Apollo finding Aries right back at his side. He glanced up at the male, his small size dwarfed by the large male. He remained silent as the wolf spoke, sorta relieved that he seemed, for the most part, calm.
"I'm sorry, we just sorta got lost on our way through, and, out of curiosity, and a bit of hope, wandered into your territory. My sister and I are loners, and, well, in any case we've been in search of a place to stay."
He explained, trying to seem respectful towards the large wolf. The last thing he wanted was to get his head bit off, and judging the wolves sheer size it seemed quite possible.

Aries sat down beside her brother, her head ducked slightly in a mixture of respect and fear as the big wolf sat in front of them. But she kept her mouth shut and let Apollo do the talking. He was always better at that than her. She would just cause problems if she opened her mouth. Instead she stared up at the big white male, almost in awe of how big he was.

Blitz was rather amused by the look of amazement that the female was giving him, but he forced himself to focus on the male wolf and his words. "I am Blitz, the alpha of Silverlight. Who are you?" He asked, waiting to answer the question about a place to stay until he knew more about them. Where had they come from? How did they get here? It was all rather confusing to him, but as he always did, he decided to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Alpha?! Oh, how wonderful, the first wolf they meet and he's the Alpha... well, maybe that's a good thing, maybe. Apollo glanced at Aries, then back at Blitz,
"I'm Apollo, and this is my sister Aries, we both came from an enclosure. We escaped not to long ago, and since then been wandering around."
He explained. It would be a lie to say he wasn't nervous, it had been a long while since they had been around anyone, and, this was different, this was a wolf from the wild, a lot different then wolves in the enclosure, so he didn't know how exactly to act, nor how the wolf himself would act. All Apollo was doing was acting on what little instinct he had.
