Plotting (Open)

This was not the ideal place for her thick, timber wolf coat, but for now, it would have to do. She was new to these lands, and still not a member of either residing pack of the valley, she had no intention of leaving any time soon. She was no stranger to new packs, nor was she naive to the harshness of other wolves. She was no fool, and she wasn't about to stand by and simply submit to anyone. But, there were still those that demanded respect, though she was unlikely to give it. She'd grown up in a violent pack of all males, and she'd been used to produce their future generation of males, something that she'd not had a choice in. She'd been raised brutally, and treated abusively all her life, and it had obviously hardened her.

There was no softness in her expression, no weakness in her stance as she came upon the Hot Springs, a neutral land of the valley, well aware of the types of wolves she might encounter here. Before long, her paws came to a stop at the edge of a large spring, her ears perked and her nose lifted as she looked around her. There was no one in sight, but the steam from the other springs blocked her view of the other side of the expanse of springs. There could be others here, and she inhaled deeply, doing her best to catch the scent of anyone present. If her plan were to work out properly, she would need to encounter at least one pack member here, and hopefully, for her sake, it was the right one.

He wasn't exactly sure what had lured him out of his new pack lands and to the Hot Springs, but the black alpha made his way down and out of the mountains and to the gathering of pools, his mind elsewhere. His pack was small, pathetically so, and he was in desperate need of loyal, strong members. Unfortunately, all he had at his back was a female hunter, Hallie, and in all honesty, she wouldn't last long in a battle with the Roztok pack, should they decide to take over the entire valley. Speaking of Roztok, their numbers were swelling. This was not good for his pack, and now he found himself going out into the neutral territories and scanning the borders for potential new members for his own pack.

He wasn't sure, though, what brought him to the springs today, but here he was, slowly coming to a stop at the opposite end of the pools of the female. But, lucky for him, the wind was blowing her scent towards him. This made him smile, and he slowly made his way through the pools, stepping carefully to avoid the many dips and shallow puddles as he headed towards her. "Well hello there, Miss. What brings you out to the Hot Springs all alone?" He asked, coming to a stop several feet from her, his tail held dominantly high and his head just as high, ears perked and head tilted curiously. "I am Luther, Alpha of the Kachle pack of this valley." He said, hoping that she would be interested in joining. She looked like a strong female, about average size, but scarred and slightly matted from obvious battles in the past. She had experience in fighting, which was something that he would need in his pack. But could he convince her to join him?

The friendliness of his approach and his words put her off slightly, but she did her best to behave as she thought an innocent female should. She listened to his words, dipping her head slightly in greeting as he introduced himself before giving him a toothy grin and tilting her head a bit at his question. "Andromeda." She said softly, introducing herself simply before addressing his inquisitive words as to her reasoning for being at the Hot Springs. "To be completely honest, I was deciding which of the two residing packs of the valley to request membership in." She said, giving him another innocent smile as her tail flicked slightly beside her.

"Though, Kachle does seem like a pack of strong and intelligent wolves." She added, flattering the alpha male purposefully. She knew he was falling right into her paws, but for now, she'd play the submissive, sweet little female. Then she'd go from there. She'd never been sweet and innocent, but she could play the part fairly well. She knew males like Luther, and she was no stranger to what they wanted or how they thought. For now, she was in a good spot, and as soon as he accepted her, she'd go with him to the dens and play loyal pack member just as well as she played lonely, desperate female now.

Luther couldn't help but smile at the female's words, obviously pleased with her flattery and compliments towards his pack. He let her finish speaking before he opened his mouth, and for the first time in his rank as alpha, he did something unusual at the border. "Our members are strong and powerful. You are more than welcome to join, if you wish." He said, offering her membership into the pack. Everyone else had come to ask for permission to join, but he was offering it to her. He wasn't sure what it was, but there was something about her that made him want her to stay. But the decision was ultimately hers, but he could hope, couldn't he?

But he'd never tell anyone in his pack that he'd asked her to join, and he doubted she would either. "You seem like you would make a fine warrior or hunter." He said, offering her a choice between the two positions. He watched her carefully, though, trying to figure out what she was thinking as well as what she would say. But for now, all he could do was wait.

It surprised her slightly when he jumped to inviting her right into the pack, but she didn't let him see the surprise on her face. Instead, she only smiled and let her tail wave slightly in the smallest of wags. Then he mentioned ranks, and she laughed softly. "I'll take warrior, thank you." She said softly, stretching and shaking her fur before standing up to her full height and looking over at the male curiously. "Could you please show me where the dens are? I'd like to make one up for myself. And maybe later you could show me around the territory?" She asked, flashing him an innocent smile as she tilted her head curiously.

He'd given into her much faster than she'd thought he would, but then again, that wasn't a bad thing. She was getting exactly what she wanted, membership in Kachle. From there, her plans were her own to keep. Though, she'd been lurking the borders for quite some time now, and there was a strangely familiar scent that she'd come across once or twice. She'd definitely be taking some patrols at the borders to investigate in her new position, but first, she really did want to find the dens and look around a bit.
