Rifter - 3 years

Appearance:
Cloaked in a myriad of creamy golds, browns and greys, Rifter holds the average appearance of a wolf of his subspecies. Dark chocolate brown masks the top of his crown and blanketing like a cape across the back and sides of his nape, shoulders, and a part of his spinal. Cinnamon ears of a more rustic red seem almost vivid against the darker hue, while his jowls lighten to a creamy ivory. Sparse flecks of grey mar the pure golden sheen of the wolf's pelt, while his tail is dipped in an inky black. His eyes are a brilliant gold, and while warm in color, they are indeed cold in appearance as they settle upon any onlooker.

Average in height, Rifter is of more stocky build -- his muscles thick from the use of previous training, and while strong in appearance, his speed is hindered from this build. His  left ear at the tip is torn -- bitten off from a previous fight against another wolf, while ragged scars can be seen upon his muzzle, and one upon his right shoulder.

Personality:

Cold, but not necessarily calculating, Rifter has only ever known the life of a warrior, and in turn, lives to serve the purpose of his pack and duty. Aloof with strangers, and strict but kind with fellow pack members, the male has been described in the past as rugged, harsh, fierce and a loyalist. Due to his rough exterior, Rifter makes very little friends, but that does not mean he does not become close to others – his more gentle side is reserved for close pack mates, and this is where the more protective aspect of the male will reveal itself.
 
As a wolf of few words, many assume the tawny male is less intellectual than brawn. While not the case, Rifter would much rather resolve an argument or matter with his teeth rather than words, and as such can be quite hot-headed and a little too quick to resort to violence. This does not mean he is a dominant wolf – submission, much like any other behavior of the wolf, comes naturally to the male when appropriate, and the golden male could never be described as overly ambitious.
 
His morals are along the grey end of the spectrum – killing does not bother the wolf if his foe I deserving of the deed, but needless bloodshed is also something he can not be bothered with. The wolf simply considers himself a warrior, and dedicates himself solely to his pack – he takes his duties seriously, and thrives for the thrill of battle and the strategy that means survival.

History:

The product of a she-wolf who had been force bred by a lone male, Rifter was born alongside one other cub, a sister who would soon pass away before the age of three months due to malnourishment. Rifter’s mother, Katina, who had not gained permission to breed from the Alpha pair, was shunned by the pack, though allowed to keep her litter – moreso of punishment than merit, for the main source of food was to go to the Alphas own litter of that year, and the pack members first before  the new pack Omega or her cubs would be allowed to eat.
 
Meak as a cub, and while his father’s genes had been large, Rifter’s own growth was slightly stunted form what he could have achieved due to his lack of food. Despite such, he survived upon the pack’s scraps, and at the age of six months proved to be an asset to the pack when the pack’s cubs were to be taught to hunt. The Alpha male, Justos, saw the possibility the youth offered, and in turn, lifted the mother once more to the rank of Pupsitter, and alleviated Rifter’s shun from the pack members by showing them his worth.
 
While he excelled at hunting, the tawny boy managed to coax the pack leader’s to allowing him to apprentice as a Warrior by the age of one, and form there, his thirst for justice and blood revealed he was made for such a role within the pack. He  was more quiet than others his age, and rather than socialize with the members of the pack, Rifter would attempt to hone his skills instead.
 
He found himself to be a full Warrior at the age of two, and from there he would know his first true battle against a rival pack – Rifter took his first life that day, and reveled in the fact that while he may have brought death to another, he had protected his pack in the process. A few months in to this age, the only female of the Alpha’s cubs caught the golden male’s attentions. Having taken an interest in Rifter’s prowess, she coerced the male to conversation, and as the two became friends, Rifter found himself with the desire to court the beautiful Liuva.
 
As the male turned three, he made his intentions known to the Alpha, Justos, believing his duty to the pack and loyal beliefs would give cause for the leader to grant permission for Rifter to continue to show his affections to the she-wolf and take her as a mate. Apparently his poor blood was still a sore memory to the male, and when Justos denied Rifter the promise of his daughter and instead gave her to another – in Rifter’s mind, less deserving – male, Rifter was then banished from the pack.
 
Traveling West of his homeland, his mind bitter about the past events of his birth pack, the male now seeks a new place to call home, believing he has now learned the valuable lesson to simply focus his mind and life upon the glories of battle rather than the perception of love.
