A journey to something new (Jenn) Empty
PostSubject: A journey to something new (Jenn)   A journey to something new (Jenn) EmptyTue Feb 21, 2012 12:16 am

An irritated whine could be heard from Rayne as she yet again tripped over some roots. This trip was getting... aggravating to say the least. The way they chose to go, well... Rayne regretted it, it was hard to walk around when all there was around them was more and more roots and vines, and even more flora that seemed determined on making Rayne trip over and fall on her face. She sighed as she picked herself up, shaking the dirt of her face and body, this was not the cleanest of trips either, which mean't more cleaning of her coat when they finally got to where they were headed, Silverlight, where she had last heard Sibirskiy was headed, and hopefully where she would find him. She glanced back, making sure Eve was still with her,
"You alright back there?"
She asked, smiling. She knew Eve was on the older side, and knowing this Rayne knew she needed more rest than her.
"We can stop if you need, no hurry, really."
She said, still smiling, sitting down, looking back at her. She had only meet her not long ago, and since Rayne knew she wasn't very well of on her own, and eve could help her, plus she could help Eve out in return, it would be smarter to travel with her. She sighed, looking up, nothing but tree covering the sky. She wondered just how much further they'd need to go... she hoped the exit to this vile place was close, she couldn't stand being here anymore.... it seemed being here made her face hurt.

((Fallon/Pravin continued from: https://incendio.rpg-board.net/t80p75-long-lost-recently-found-acceptance#1275 ))

Eve chuckled in the background as she plodded along, placing her steps much more slowly than Rayne, but much more deliberately - there wasn't room for error here. If the wolfess went down like Rayne, there'd be more issues than a little dirt in her coat.

The dingy brown female was panting, but her voice was cheery as she replied, "I'm fine, dear...though I don't think a quick sit here would do either of us harm." She walked up to where the white wolfess sat kindly waiting and lay down beside the younger female, breathing heavily. As she lay there catching her breath, Eve looked around at the dense trees and asked, flicking her ears back wonderingly, "Have you scented any others yet?" Eve could hardly smell anything, but instinct told her that there had to be wolves around...or perhaps it was more than that. There was a feeling, in the air? It just told her they had entered something different...hopefully pack lands. Hopefully Rayne's brother's pack.

Fallon looked at Pravin out of the corner of her eyes, as if also trying to judge if he was crazy enough to head out to the plains. "Or traitorous," she added to the male's comment, remembering that this is where crazies from the pack would go, too. Where Chaos should be. With a sigh, desperate to forget about this place, Fallon started walking on, meshing back into the trees, heading north, past the edge of the Plains and toward two strangers no one had been expecting.

Pravin looked sideways to see Fallon melt back into the trees, and followed likewise. Traitorous. That's what she had said. He wondered if she personally knew any wolf that had ventured into the plains. Other than Chaos, of course. His thoughts stayed on his interest to the plains when he froze in his tracks, siimilar in the way he had found Tessa and Sibirskiy. "Fallon." he gave a short bark, notifying her that he'd found something of interest. Or rather, some wolves of interest, he found as he broke through the already broken bush. A white and a brown wolf sat in front of him. They weren't of the pack, and this was Pravin's first encounter with loners as a pack member. He wasn't sure how to greet them, and was left only with a growl that he cut short.

Rayne smiled to Eve's response, it was obvious she wasn't fine, her breathing seemed a bit labored, Rayne was good at noticing this. She didn't say anything though, she just knew the older wolf needed the rest, whether she'd admit it or not. She sat near Eve, looking around, sniffing the air, she was right, there did seem to be a scent, no, two scents in the air, and not there's. Her eyes seemed to get hopeful, hopefully it was the pack! Maybe... Maybe even Sib himself! Her tail started to wag a bit, she was prone to excitement, and, even if it wasn't him... they could surely lead her to him! She knew she was getting a bit overl excited, she was only going to disappoint herself, what if he wasn't here, and moved on from here... she let out a sigh, she couldn't let herself get so worked up like that.
"Yah, I can... I don't know where, but they seem to be getting closer, so don't worry, it must be not that much further to the pack lands, and I'm sure they'll have a place for you to rest up, you look like you need it."
She said with a smile, looking around. Not that much longer till they did see those other wolves.

She jumped, a bit surprised though when she saw a wolf appear in front of her, apparently she judged there distance wrong. She smiled, lowering her head partially, not sure whether it was expected or not.
"H..Hi there, I.. I mean we mean no harm, I swear."
She said, her voice was steady, but that didn't stop her stuttering partially in her sentence.

Pravin looked down at the bowed head of the younger female and bowed his own head for a second. Harm? It didn't look as if the pair would ever mean harm. They only looked tired. "I didn't think you did. Pardon my entrance." he said, apologizing for his growl of a greeting. "I am Pravin, named warrior of these packlands. Welcome to Silverlight." he greeted them in a similar style as Blitz had greeted him his first day through the woods. Pravin had a professional tone, and stood tall, as if he'd been packmember for months, when it had only been a day. He took a good look at the pair. The one who had spoken was small witha white coat. She both smelled and looked like Sibirskiy, or maybe that was completely coincidental and Pravin was just making things up. The other had an older look to her, her coat a mix of browns and greys. She was built small though. Pravin wondered how they'd gotten here, and why. And how had Fallon and he completely miss the pair?

She smiled lightly as he introduced himself, apologizing for his entrance. She keep her head low though, she knew she was but a guest in these lands, so she had to act this way. She glanced at Pravin, he seems, well seemed to be quite professorial in all this, it seemed like he had tenor in this pack, which made her thank herself even more for bowing slightly to this male.
"My name's Rayne, and this here's Eve. You'll have to excused her though, she's a bit winded."
She said smiling, glancing back at Eve. She figured she'd do the talking for them, since Eve seemed to be to tired anyhow, it would be better for her not to speak anyhow. She then glanced back at Pravin, letting herself raise her head slightly,
"I.. I'm sorry for sudden;y showing up here, but we both have been seeking your pack now for a good time, both for our own reasons, but basically we both want to ultimately join your pack... if you and the rest of your pack permit us of course."
She said, smiling, trying to seem friendly, and still yet submissive.

Fallon stepped up beside Pravin, whom she'd been staring at in honest shock as he so confidently (and cordially) handled the newcomers. She'd deal with this later (because she had to make a big deal out of everything of course, and he'd pretty much crumbled most of what she'd spent so much time yelling at him about). First, these girls. Fallon had been quite testy recently, thanks to the season, but even that couldn't dispel her instant love for these two wolves. Just the fact that they were new made Fallon interested in them, but they were also sweet, which equaled 'new best friends' in Fallon's head.

"We would love for you to join us," said the female with a wag of her tail, though casting a quick glance at Pravin as she spoke for him, "but that is up for our alpha to decide...though I'm sure he feels the same way. He's a nice guy." Looking back toward the dens, she again went over the point that she was not allowed to accept members, and so she tilted her head back and called out to Blitz. Might as well get him over here sooner rather than later.

"Anything either of you need?" asked Fallon as she trotted right up to them and started looking them over. The older one, Eve, shook her head and smiled, but Fallon looked over to Rayne for confirmation, not trusting that Eve would speak up.

Rayne smiled as the female wolf started to speak. She sorta understood why they'd need to be properly accepted by the Alpha, it only made sense. She didn't care about that though, she still had to e sure if her brother was here, if not, she couldn't stay, though she would still make sure Eve settled in. She glanced back at her, seeing her nod, she obviously was to stubborn to actually ask for anything. Rayne just turned back to Fallon, a slight grin on her face,
"Yah, actually, she might not ask, but I will. Is there any way either of you can just help her to the den's, just giver her a shoulder to lean on. The trips took her toll on her, though she won't admit it."
She said, grinning, turning back to Eve, just to see if she would disagree to it, though whether she did or not Rayne was going to get one of the wolves to help her, she wasn't taking any chances with her.
"Oh... and... I need to ask if you know something, I.. uhh.. came here searching for someone... and I was wondering if you can tell me if he's here."
She said, smiling, her heart was racing now, she was nervous, hopeful, but nervous.

Pravin looked sideways at Fallon as she seemed excited of the newcomers. Was he the only one she hadn't been so excited for? The white wolf introduced herself as Rayne, and the elder as Eve. Travellers. That's what they were. "And that's Fallon." He added, motioning to her as she hadn't given the newcomers a chance to know her name. Which was kind of funny, he would have thought that that was the first thing out of her mouth. At the request for help, Pravin looked at Fallon, asking, "Do you want to help her, or shall I?" He knew that Fallon would be happy enough to help, but his big structure could prove more helpful. Either worked.

His ears twitched and flicked when Rayne mentioned her search for another wolf. Maybe his suspicions were right. Maybe she did know Sibirskiy, maybe that's why she smelled just like him. Maybe he wasn't making things up. Taking a step forward, and eyes narrowed, he spoke, "Does that character happen to be named Sibirskiy?" If he was wrong, he was wrong. But if he was right, she'd found the right place.

Fallon wagged her tail in a second greeting as Pravin introduced her. It was actually not unusual for her to be so wrapped up in learning about other wolves, especially ones who had stories to tell, that she forgot she had a name to share, too. Fifteen minutes ago, Fallon would have snapped something nasty at the male for speaking for her, but new faces put a halo around everything the wolfess could see, and even her opinions on Pravin were being affected by her exuberant mood.

At Pravin's question toward her, the female stopped, again a little surprised that his words weren't matching what she had assessed as normal for him. If she had actually tried to understand Pravin more before, his behavior would not have seemed bizzare at all, but the thought that she had completely misjudged him - as he'd argued - did not even cross her mind. After looking between him and Eve a few times and squinting her eyes in thought, the female sighed and nodded. "You probably'd help her best."

She moved to the side, and shot Eve a smile, which was returned with a soft, sweet one on the other end. Pravin's quick response to Rayne's question had Fallon's attention in a split second. Sibirskiy? Who was that?

Rayne smiled happily as they chose who would help Eve out, she didn't care if Eve needed it or not, Rayne didn't want the chance of something happening to her. She had already been nice enough to travel along with her, so she had to make sure Eve actually made it to the dens, not that she didn't have faith in the wolf, but she knew her age would easily get the best of her. She glanced back at Pravin s he spook, her eyes widening at his question, just him mentioning his name was good, but.. that mean't he was here?! Or, or at least they saw him! She almost wanted to jump n this wolf in excitement, and in fact it was quite hard to refrain, but she managed, though her tail was wagging crazily behind her.
"You...you know him?! Is he here?!!"
She asked, her eyes lighting up as she peered at the wolf, god, she just hoped he was here, it would be amazing if she had truly found him.

Pravin nodded as Fallon elected him to be the helper. He walked beside Eve, standing there as he waited. But then he watched Rayne's quick response. She was excited over the fact, and Pravin knew he was right. He nodded, "Yes. He's here in the packlands. I'd last seen him early today, in fact." Had it only been this morning that terror ran through the pack, and Pravin was sent out on his own? Had it only been today that he was part of the pack itself? Whatever the day, Pravin knew that the female in front of him was only excited to see Sibirskiy. He could only assume they were related either by blood or by history. Seeing her reaction to the whole thing, it wouldn't have been surprising.

She stared at him, he was truly here in the pack then, so her coming here wasn't in vain! Her heart raced, she was relieved, and excited, but also still nervous. it had been a while since she last seen him, so, she just wondered how it would be to see him again. She sighed, trying to calm herself for now. At least she knew he was here, and she would be able to see him again, and since that problem was solved, she still needed to make sure Eve got to the pack's land, and hopefully they allowed them to join their pack, both of them needed it surely, and plus, Rayne wanted to stay here even more since Sib was here.
"I... thanks you.. that's a relief... it really is. I actually started to fear the worse. So, shall we then? I think the sooner Eve can get to your packs den's and rest the better."
She said, smiling, her tail still wagging lightly. She had to still worry for Eve, she felt she was sorta inclined to, she had been with her for so long now, she felt it was only right she help her out, whether she wanted or not.

Pravin nodded in response, not knowing how else to feel. He was about to reunite a pair of wolves, both of which he barely knew. He didn't really know anyone here, but still. He nudged Eve lightly, letting her know he would help her to the dens. "How do you know Sibirskiy?" He asked, after motioning in the direction of the dens, saying it was time to go. He was sure that after his question was answered, Fallon would occupy the female until they got back to the dens. And the one he was walking with, Eve, didn't seem to speak much. That was good. Pravin had said many words already, and he'd welcomed them as much as he could. There wasn't much else to do but bring Rayne to Sibirskiy. And show them pair to Blitz of course.

Eve stood up slowly, still panting a bit, and gratefully leaned up against Pravin's shoulder and began to move with the group. She hadn't had much to say - she never really did - but there had been a lot to see. Immediately, she liked Pravin and Fallon. The male gained her respect at once for his courteous welcoming of she and Rayne, and it was not difficult to sense that he was one, like she, who would rather watch than jabber. Though personality-wise Eve and Fallon were almost entirely opposite, both did love other wolves immensely, and how could Eve not like someone who reminded her so much of a pup?

Fallon smiled back at Pravin's dutiful nod and began leading the group toward the dens, watching Rayne intently for her answer to her packmate's question. Interest in the question kept the wolfess from speeding off initially, though a few glances back at the slow-moving Eve and her new buddy Pravin was beginning to guilt-trip her into maintaining this snail-like pace.

She smiled, seeing as Pravin walked over and helped Eve up, letting her lean against his shoulder. That was a load off, at least now she didn't have to worry about Eve possibly hurting herself. She smiled, her tail still wagging from the obvious excitement she had.
"He's my brother, that's all."
She said, smiling. Well, that was putting it actually quite lightly, he mean't more to her than just any brother would to a sister. As she followed the two wolves she keep glancing around. At the speed they were going, it was sure to take some time before they hit their dens... she sorta didn't want to wait that long to get there, but at the same time she didn't want to rush to much, it might anger the two wolves if she tried to.

"Your brother?" exclaimed the red and black wolfess, ears perking in shock. Now she was really interested in who Sibirskiy was, though she was going to guess from the looks of Rayne that he was possibly white. This was going to be an awesome reunion! With a constrained, almost agonized look, Fallon glanced back at Pravin and Eve. Even Rayne was looking anxious to get going.

Eve would chuckle about Fallon's conflicted look later, but right now she knew how much this meant to Rayne, that her brother was so close. And yet so far if they were all going to be traveling at her own careful pace. The gentle wolfess looked up with her dull but smiling eyes at Pravin, reaffirming to herself that she trusted him. It wasn't hard to look back at Rayne and nod encouragingly. "Why don't you run on ahead, Rayne? I think I'm in good company here," she said in her gravelly voice, pretending like the idea for Rayne to hurry on was all her own, trying not to make the white wolfess feel guilty or obligated to stay. She shot a goodhearted wink at her friend for good measure.

Fallon grinned and looked expectantly at Rayne, ready to bolt off toward the dens if the other wolfess was up for it.

"Brother." Pravin said as he nodded, carrying Eve along at a slow pace. He knew Fallon wouldn't like to be kept back like this, even though they'd only known each other for so long. He could just tell she was always full of energy. And she didn't seem so mad at him any more. Which was good. Rayne also looked a bit excited, as Eve suggested they go before him. "Go ahead, you two. I'll make sure Eve gets there safely." He said, agreeing with the wolf he was helping. It was the first time she had spoken.

Her eyes light up as Pravin said her and Fallon could go on ahead, glancing at the female, not at all hesitating to wait for another O.K., taking off towards where she figured the dens would be, mostly going off the scent the other two wolves left. There was a good chance they came from the dens, so, she figured following their scent backwards would lead her there, and if not, Fallon would tell her she was going the wrong way. She glanced around to make sure she was actually following, she would've felt sorta bad if she happened to just leave her behind.

Fallon leaped after Rayne with a gleeful wag of her tail. Keeping up with Rayne was no problem, and once the white wolfess started veering a little off the trail, as it was an older scent trail they were following, the red wolfess sped up and took the position in front, leading Rayne straight to the dens. She kept her pace in check so as not to lose the other female, but they made it back way before Pravin and Eve ever would. Panting but grinning from the excitement of the run and the anticipation of watching Rayne and Sibirskiy meet each other, Fallon asked, "Ok, so, who here is Sibirskiy?"

Eve chuckled a little as the two females took off like lightning toward the dens. At least they'd clear out a pretty nice path back. "Thank you so much for assisting me, Pravin," said the female graciously as they moved along. "I'm a bit more feeble than I should be at my age, and I hate being a burden. But I do end up meeting the nicest wolves in the pack, the ones that have the heart to help me out." The female smiled and focused on walking, completely content to finish the rest of the journey in peaceful silence if Pravin turned out to be as quiet as she was.

Pravin laughed in his head at the excitement Rayne and Fallon exhibited when they ran ahead. There was a short silence before he heard Eve speak again. He shook his head. "No worries. I don't think being a burden matters here. And helping is just part of being in the pack." Pravin said quietly, not quite knowing what else to say. But he had noticed that she didn't speak much. Maybe they were alike in that matter, and maybe they could make the long trip in silence.
